    MetalCloak?

5%. Every little bit :-) Still happy by the way. I put about 300 miles per week and have a couple longer trips and one wheeling trip under my belt since putting on the metal cloak and still very happy.

    2005 Rubicon LJ

Holy cow! Greg has joined the party! As I just this evening put whole long drawn out gobbligook write up on jeep-owner you can see it there, but yes, I have to say to was like magic. mounted on all four wheels and from the moment I got to pavement, I knew it was a success. You will read some...

Shimmy, shimmy shimmy.... stinkin shimmy was driving me nuts. Rebuilt entire front end, had tires balanced...3 times... ugggg... After some research, ordered a set of centramatic wheel balancers. Put them on this weekend and Bam! NO shimmy... I suppose I am happy since I have a brand new...

    TJ Front bumper ideas

Seems to me you have to decide a couple things... do you want improved approach angles via a stubby, do you want more protection from a full length, do you want a built in winch mount, is light weight more important? Decisions, decisions...

    Jeep Comanche homemade camper

Like it. Nice video with some fun surfing. My 4 year old was enthralled with the surfing... and of course the bigfoot...:)

    New Marlin 1895GBL

Winchester Silvertips are hard to beat. Both deer I took this season were with this round. One with a 30.06 (Rem. 700) and one with a .357 (Ruger gp100). Different changes to each round, but both devastating on impact and recovered from the animal. Nice hog. Definitely on my to do list. John

Which Caliber for a primary Hunting Rifle?

Really don't worry about difference in recoil. I don't see it being much of a difference. I shoot both from very light bolt actions and also the 308 from an M1a scout. You will not even notice the recoil when in the moment of a hunt. I like your idea of matching calibers with your tactical...

    MetalCloak?

I put front lower and upper control arms from MC on my 2005 LJ. The difference in ride over stock was remarkable. Easily the biggest noticeable ride improvement change I have made in any of my 7 jeeps. Customer service was top notch, including, a veterans discount, a phone call to thank me...

    2005 Rubicon LJ

I have stock on top and 1" added to bottom ala hockey puck. If you look at this photo, everything is tucking nicely, but if was to flex like this and turn the wheel, I would hit the flare pretty bad. Not sure which route I am going to go yet for that extra inch or so, and it is not anything...

Thanks for this. Any preference with any of these? I installed Spartan Lockers before but they do not make one for this particular Toyota.

    LJ De-build.

Eager to hear about your experience with the Ranchos. I did the Bilsteins on mine and am fairly satisfied, but wonder about the adjustability you have chosen. Would like to know what you set them at and if you ever change them. Nice work on your jeep. John

    2004 tacoma

Thanks Joe. I have installed "lunchbox" lockers before, so I think I am going to head that route, as you suggested. Keep it simple and inexpensive. Won't be taking this truck off road in the traditional fashion, but will be used daily around our farm by my wife. I can see plenty of stucks if...

    2004 tacoma

As of this Friday my wife and I will be the proud owners of a 2004 Tacoma 4 door prerunner. We are happy to have it, as even though it has clearly seen some "truck" use... it has only 70k miles. What I am looking for is info on a locker for the rear. I come from the Jeep world and have...

Matt Scott's article "5 Things We'd Love To See In The Next Wrangler"

I guess I should clarify some of my comments. I doubt there is a serious need for the vehicle I described. However it is one I would be interested in. So my article would have been "What I WANT in the next wrangler". Doubtful they would sell a bunch... but that was not the question. I have...
