    What's next?

I read your report on the main page. Interesting for sure. I really like the description you gave of "the rubicon of bikes"... I can relate and would like to think that with all that I could ride anything. Still would be slow as snot, but that is me, not the bike. definitely thinking about...

    Brake Caliper Not Releasing

You can also pick up a new caliper at any auto store, and the swap is easy. I just had to do both rears on my 2005 within the last several months. Don't sweat changing out the hubs, can't hurt with a vehicle that old. John

    2005 Rubicon LJ

Had a good time today with Scott Fields and crew at UROTC at their Big Creek facility near Eldorado, NC. I was one of the few TJ based jeeps there, the only LJ and the baby of the group... You can see me in the line up (rubicon)... front flexed a bit so it looks like less clearance for the...

    Time for a new Jeep?

Lots of interesting advice here. I think you are asking the right questions. I went through something similar in the last few years. I was a single Dad with two kids who had been camping and four wheeling with me their entire lives. It was what we did for weekends off, vacations, etc...

Would you put a locker in ....

I have had two rubicons and the selectable locker front and rear is awesome. However, for costs sake, in the Cherokee build I detailed here, I put a Spartan "lunchbox" auto locker in the rear. Really not noticeable on the road, you just have to stay off the gas in turns. Incredibly helpful...

    2005 Rubicon LJ

Groan... Clunk in the steering... clearly identified as coming from inside the steering box (sideline... my four year old turned the wheel back and forth while I diagnosed 8) Makes me happy) Sound comes when the direction of the turn changes... not all the time, but pretty easy to replicate...

    Getting there!!

Nice. I love the 33x10.50 tire size. I see you also have added the very most important Jeep add on... Dirt... Well done. Good luck with it. John

Genright XJ Extended Range Gas Tank install

Great detailed write up. I especially like the "gripes" posts. Nice to see that kind of honest evaluation.

    What's next?

You guys are right on... maybe a new toy to resurge the riding jones. I have ridden some 29" bikes and have to say I don't get it... or really see any difference at all... That is probably because I am so slow. I used to worry about that but not so much anymore. I think to really see an...

    What's next?

Looking for what's next... for me? I have been riding since 1990... some road but mostly MTB. I started with a steel fully rigid trek and have run the gamut from there to front susp, to full susp, back to hardtail, to now singlespeed. Currently riding a steel frame On One Summer Season, steel...

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

The first time I took my current jeep offroad I hit the rear over hang behind the rear wheel and bent it up and bent the rocker panel. We got out of the jeep and my 18 year old said, "Well, now it looks like YOUR jeep" All part of the game.:) Good luck with this build. Great start. John

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

Super nice GC. We looked hard at an Overland a few years ago, but my wife said, "It's TOO nice for you!" She may have been right, since we use the LJ like a workhorse on the farm. The WJ is a near perfect platform for what most do with a vehicle and the extra of it being an Overland was a...

Which Caliber for a primary Hunting Rifle?

Nice! I have the same only in 30.06 with a Pentax Lightseeker 3-9x and it is my go to deer rifle for sure. So light and easy to handle. Comes to the shoulder so quick. Took a 7 point this year at 150 from the standing and he was at a full run. Good selection on your part. Congrats!

Nice work on that rebuild and continued improvement. What made you decide to go away from the ARB bumper?
