    Gaia vs Onx

Gaia even has a land ownership layer (premium maybe) that names the owner of the land. It's not perfect and i'd guess the onx one may be better since it sounds like that is one of the primary functions of onx. Gaia is far from perfect and pretty frustrating in some ways, which keeps leading me...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

I picked this one up a month or so ago. Pics are from a way-too-short tour of Alabama Hills on the way home. This rig may already be in this thread, i wouldn't be surprised if the previous owner was active on the forum. 2008 HSE Lux, seems to have been very well cared for. We are enjoying it...

    LR3 park brake adjustment

No new parts. The brake wasn't holding well so I disassembled, cleaned, adjusted according to the directions and reassembled. Looser now than it was before. Maybe I screwed something up? I guess I'll try again, maybe tomorrow night. Rotor, pads and shoes all have plenty of material remaining I...

    LR3 park brake adjustment

FWIW, I just followed the process in the linked brake Bible (the text of which is duplicated on the Atlantic British website) and my parking brake is now way too loose. I was missing the rubber plugs in the rotors and the passenger side parking brake had what seemed like rubber melted /smeared...

    OPUS 15' Hybrid Caravan

thanks for the feedback Phuston. How do you like that rear bed pop out? With the multiple hinged panels, does it seem fairly robust/durable, easy to use? Does it do a reasonbly good job of keeping drafts and rain out? That is one of the more interesting features of that trailer in my opinion.

Any problem running LR3 without cats?

It may bear mentioning that i think running the catalytic converters is a good idea and i would like to have them if they're not prohibitively expensive, so that i'm not polluting more than necessary. I'd be hard-pressed to spend $3,000 on that, but the $600-800 somebody else mentioned may be in...

Any problem running LR3 without cats?

I appreciate all the responses... They don't lead me to a crystal clear conclusion but they are helpful. I may try to negotiate a price reduction of less than the high replacement quote but more than nothing. Anybody know who is a real authority guru on the engine/computer systems on these rigs...

An introduction to my new LR3

Did you switch wheels due to style preferences? The ones that were on it were 18s right? (wide 5 spoke)

Any problem running LR3 without cats?

I'm looking at a used lr3 that appears to be in pretty good shape and well-maintained but the catalytic converters are about shot on it and one of the O2 sensors is not happy with the output. Is there any problem on these rigs with all their computers if I just delete the cats or just leave the...

    Overkill Campers

I've visited overkill at their shop a few times (I live in the same town) and have been very impressed with the product. I think it's true to the name in that the durability of the frames is probably off the charts and a bit unnecessary but there it is right in the name. They are a small crew...

Best Sub 100K Trailer available in USA Market (not Black Series)

Pretty much any trailer shouldn't really be that difficult to lift I wouldn't think...

I have a flat pack trailer kit, sorta

Did you buy the panels / kit or make them?

Best Sub 100K Trailer available in USA Market (not Black Series)

Opus 15 seems neat, not sure how they compare quality wise with the black series. I'd be interested in one if I had the budget.

    Opus OP 15 - rear bed pop-out

Thanks for the info. I doubt I'd have any trouble with it but sounds like my wife might. I doubt she'd ever use it without me though. Does that rear pop out section seem like it's durable and seals up reasonably well against rain and bugs? What holds the bed platform up when it's deployed.

    Opus OP 15 - rear bed pop-out

I just noticed that the 12' MDC camper has the same thing. Maybe it's an Australian thing. Looks like a pretty good system. I'm wondering if there is any real-world experience that validates that or can point out problems/frustrations.

    Opus OP 15 - rear bed pop-out

The opus hybrid camper has a somewhat unique pop out for the rear bed with hinged panels instead of a tent or slide out. Does anyone have experience with it and an opinion or review regarding that particular feature? I've been planning and researching a custom trailer build for quite some time...

    OPUS 15' Hybrid Caravan

@Windows down what are your thoughts on the opus? How is that rear bed pop out? Convenient, reliable /durable, seal out the bugs and weather pretty well?

    Opus OP-15

Saw an opus 15 at a campground last week. I should have asked for a tour. Just watched the 14 minute video and saw how the rear bed enclosure opens up. I'm curious how well that works. Is it solid? Leaky /drafty? Pretty neat idea. Not unlike the apache pop up camper from the 70s. Im hoping to...

Wife needs indoor accommodations....what is worth buying?

I'm glad to hear that. I wish i knew how many of us there are. I just turned 40, i have a 1.5 and 6 year old and we have no interest in a conventional american camper but can't find anything that will work for us. I've been toying with the idea of building something and trying to start a company...
