    Radiator Hoses LR-DII

I have the RAVE cd's. Own to many rovers to have the hard copy manuals laying around. I forgot to add that the write-up. To get good access to all the hoses, the fan assembly and cowlings need to come off. Removing that stuff is not hard to do. You can change the hoses without removing the...

    Radiator Hoses LR-DII

It is pretty straight forward. You might as well change the coolant in the system. Open both of the block coolant drain ports, use a short 10mm open end wrench for this. They are high on the block, just underneath the exhaust manifolds. The passenger side is a pain because the starter is in...

I did my own hood blackout.

Nice job. :luxhello: The decal is not all what it made out to be. There is glare with the decal. I can see you being able to control the glare better with paint. The only cool thing with a decal I have noticed is when you have a engine fire, it glows and then flares up a pretty blue.

    is this a decent deal?

Yep, the good old rover saying. "If it is not leaking, it is empty". Get the price down, then throw in a D&D cam and have the heads ported and balanced. After you are done with the top end, start saving for a TD5 or 300TDI.

What's the deal with the Freelander?

Not to mention they had major issues with the transmission. The primary pump would love to strip out. The one redeming factor was that the ECU was not relient on the BCU so it was eaiser to upgrade the computers then in the DII. You where able reflash the existing computer and reset the SLABS...

What to look for ,,when buying

When you get into Central America you will be amazed how many rovers are down there. Not to mention most of the shops down there can work on these things. That is because the mechanics in a rover are simple. Just remember this; the rover engine is just a 215 Buick from 1962. The 4HP22/24...

    Latching relay with a timer?

Sorry about that, I forgot that you where look for a large amount of time. For that amount of time, the capacitor would have to be very big. Then you will have to add a resistor and calculate the total resistance of the coil in the relay and the resistor to use, along with the capacitor size to...

    Expeditions West 2004 Tacoma

Greengrease is good stuff and have used it until I found Militec grease. I found it worked best here in the Southwest for me because it does not attract dust also it does not wash out to easily when in the water. I also use their grease and oils for all my weapons and I put them through hell...

    Turn Coat???

--- Beginning ZEN --- Personal, I would keep the DII. You don’t have any leaks, the ABS must still be functioning since that was not brought up, and you have not destroyed the diff from over use of the traction control. No matter what vehicle you get, it will break down. You currently have a...

    Latching relay with a timer?

The following is just a basic idea and can be improved. What you want to do is very easy with a relay, I just need to get ready for work :( . If I have time, I can come up with a more complete solution. For right now you need to live with my hyjack. Later Taken from The12Volt.com Constant to...

    Turn Coat???

Heck, if you kept the rover in good repair it will last forever. Don't worry about the trip unless you neglected your baby. Before my mishap I had over 190,000 miles on mine and it was still going strong. Even after my mishap I still did not abandon her and will soon be giving her a new 300tdi...

    4.0 liner problem

The slipped liner only happens if you have over heated the engine multiple times, or did on massive over heat. If you have not over heated you engine, or if it started to over heat and shut it down soon enough, you will not have an issue. There are no early warning signs of a liner slipping...

What to look for ,,when buying

Stevenmd, I am a member of that forum I don't post though. Good find on the 2a. If you found one in good running shape, then I am jealous. I got one 4 years ago and love it to death. It took me a year to get it back into running condition though and I am still cleaing it up. Will say this, the...
