Transfer in from G-Wagen needs help with wheels

The 3rd Gen montero is a hub centric design. You should use hub rings if using larger bore wheel. Yes, it can work but not proper. Hub is designed to center wheel and take the load. What you can get away with and how it is designed are two different things. Custom hub rings are less than...

Gen2.5 vs G3n3, Not Necessarily Logical Edition

It does fine on road. Sucks off road with 4.30s and 33s. I was running 33.5" tires with 4.30s for some time. 4.90s so much better on the trail and stock power on road.

Wow! All in huh? What axle? Going coil or leaf? Maybe leaf swap the rear for more clearance; those rear trailing arms are a real good anchor.

What should my Custom Plate be??

Nice! Seems rather fitting. Looking forward to what you decide. TheDusy - This would make people laugh who don't know the trail, so I voted for it. :)

BTW... Lots of parts available for Gen3 if you import. Good local suspension options from King, RadFlo, OME.

A fair bit was high elevation (over 5,000ft) with climbs and descents. I keep at 60-65mph. It is happiest just under 65mph. I'm not in a big hurry and enjoy the journey.

Yeah, Central Oregon has a bunch of the volcanic razor type rocks. I've done limited travel with the tires in that area. However, will be running trails for 2 days in a couple weekends down there. Will let you know if I kill any tires. :)

Destroyed the sidewall on one tire. Freak situation, not on a trail. Have just shy of 10k miles on them. Mine are load D so not the heaviest construction. I'm sure the Load E would fair better; however still not as think/heavy as some MTs (like Toyo MT).

Still running the stock cooler. I've debated adding an additional cooler but it hasn't been necessary. Even running the Morrison Jeep trail in the peak summer heat (extremely steep, exposed, rocky climb with massive elevation gain over a very short distance - 20+ switchback that are nearly...
