Although not the same year as the 03 Expo project here, looking forward to seeing what I can apply on our new 2011 Forester. Just picked it up @ the dealership.
I like the easy access for doing oil filter changes. And seems the 3rd gen rides quiter and more solid...
Congrats on the new addition. And glad to hear you and your family made it home safely w/minor delays on the Land Rovers.
I recognize the plates. Did you pick-up the RRC from Granville? Very nice.
60 bottles of California wine. Sweet!
Hey hey Jason; thanks the well wishes on the sale; good to hear from you also; you never know ownership of this truck maybe in you future. :)
Ben came to visit us in the SF Bay Area last year; met him, his wife and his brother @ Mexxis Restaurant; and a few of the LR club members came along to...
Hi Rovertrader, thanks; it is indeed. I drove it down from Washington to CA, and took a side trip on Oregon Wagon in between first week of ownership. That was a great trip.
And yes, the 200 TDI was new; but, I've only put in less 10,000 enjoyable miles since my purchase, and I am sure will...
Roger that.
Plus today in CA, some counties do not req smog testing: http://www.ehow.com/list_7640190_californias-dmv-diesel-smog-requirements.html
And there's always the idea of moving to the Big Island of Hawaii should CA req testing for all diesels (smile).
Hey Hey Jason; good to hear from you; been great owning this truck plus experience of driving this defender thru snow, sand, desert, rocks...; wow indeed. Have other projects coming up and with my travel/work schedule, this CT110 is not going to get the attention it deserves (trips/driving use...
Surprise! Suprise to some of you that I am selling. Time to move on for me!
Priced between an LR4 and entry into a new full size Range Rover HSE - why not go for something unique: CT110. Here's your chance. Or if you already have a newer LR - this would be a great add-on to your fleet...
Feel the same way also; should be fun!
Just been working on making the van more road worthy e.g. fluid changes, tune-up, and now working on getting new inner/outer tie-rods, and a drag link (DIY to save on cost).
BTW, I got the price down from $2500 to $1500. :Wow1: :)
First week, took it...
Salue,
Sorry for the delayed response; been traveling more lately for work.
I saw a butane setup on an outdoor PI website: http://www.pinoymountaineer.com/2008/05/stoves-and-cooksets.html; although the article didn't mention the adapter, prompted me to google "butane adapter" after seeing it...
Keep us posted when this becomes avail. I'd be interested in both the device and service. I like the flexible monthly plans. Thanks for sharing this news!
Hey Herbie, thanks! I think 4WD conversion will be off on this van more I think about it; rather use the funds and energy/time doing something else like adding a pop top later. I have 4wd vehicles to fill that need so I am good for now.
Plus the massive CNG tank on this van hangs about the...
Nice P38 you're looking into.
Mentioned new to LRs. Have you looked into 2004 DIIs?
Has the reliable LT230 and can drive-out in 2WD should you break either one of the axles (vs Viscous Coupling Unit found on P38s you can't).
And once you get passed and solve the ABS Three Amigos issues (DIY...
Thanks Salue and Tim A for the replies/info.
Now I realize the multi-fuel stove like the MSR Dragonfly as you suggested Tim is the way to go in areas unsure if canisters will be avail. I can pack the empty fuel bottle, and the stove in my check-in luggage. Then when I get to my destination...
Thanks Chasespeed. I also read somewhere that the engine for CNGs is suppose to be heavier duty/hardened components e.g. gasket... Thanks again and like to hear more about what you want to share re: CNG.
I am toying with the idea of picking up this 2000 Dodge Ram Van 3500 for $2500 a friend pointed out to me.
Don't know anything about Dodge Vans especially this particular 3500, but starting to do my research before I pull the trigger. Not afraid to turn a wrench.
It's 2WD - perhaps 4WD later...
Paul,
Like the setup - keeping it simple yet functional (like the gravity fee d PVC water supply setup among others). Also nice clean interior wood work. WTG.
Mind if I asked - what did you use to secure the cabinets on the wall of the Sprinter, and was the carpet on the ceiling standard...
Getting ideas (thank you) where to go/explore on this thread: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57366&highlight=philippines
Now I am planning my trip including what camping/hiking gears to take. Just realize I can't take my Jetboil fuel cans as checked-in luggage (TSA...
