Weighing my options for carrying extra fuel on an FJC

What about an auxiliary tank? I know a few exist for the FJC, Man-A-Fre is the only one I can come up with off the top of my head though. Not the cheapest solution but might be the most practical.

    1977 207D in the northwest

Unfortunately I have other plans for my bank account right now because I've lusted after these for a while. Who needs 4WD anyway? http://olympic.craigslist.org/cto/5244800665.html

    Expedition Overland 2013 Tacoma Build

Cool, I just figured they were going to be show vehicles for Toyota afterwards. The first ninety second of this really makes it sound like they are loaners: https://youtu.be/0l4_6hKnID0

    Old's Cool

Selling my '93 ranks right up there amongst the worst decisions I've ever made. I'd go out and pick up another one in a heartbeat but kids...

    Rig w/ boat Pics

I did. It's far from perfect, and a traditional tandem is better boat-wise, but I really wanted us to be able to see each other easily and converse. The boy's boat is a slightly widened 60% build from some open source plans and mine is kinda free built (and a bit of a failure if I'm honest)...

    Rig w/ boat Pics

I think this probably belongs in here. Maiden two weeks ago, ~20 miles logged so far, still working out the kinks:

Now we know the cargo rating of the 2016 Tacoma

This is funny, Toyota's tech spec press release doesn't even match up with the owners manual... http://www.tfltruck.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/2016-toyota-Tacoma-Technical-specs.pdf p.16

Now we know the cargo rating of the 2016 Tacoma

It's worse than originally speculated in this thread. Directly out of the owners manual:

2011 Tacoma TRD OffRoad 4x4 Access Cab 6MT (40 Gallon Fuel tank)

Aww, if it was a double cab I'd probably be down there pounding on your door already. I remember a thread about the larger tank, but that was long ago. Mind divulging the cost? Good luck with the sale.

Removing mold/mildew from the *inside* of camper canvas

A few years back I spent a couple years running crews doing insurance restoration work, a good portion of that being mold remediation. There are a lot of products we used during various stages of work but for mold alone, we killed it with a 10:1 water and bleach and cleaned up after with mild...

Pre 1985 toyota SFA diesel Swaps

I met a guy a good while back that ran a 2LT in a 1st gen 4runner on veggie. It a perfect fit for the truck IMO. He's since sold the truck and his site is long since dead but you can still pull it up on wayback machine. http://web.archive.org/web/20090119153650/http://clean4x4.com/

One man camper loading... using casters on jack stands.

Good idea. The only thing I'd be wary of is that the camper jacks may not be (and likely are not) as thick walled as scaffolding. Scaffold wheels offset the load placed on them creating a rotational force on the legs with the fulcrum located at the top of the insert. Conversely, the jacks are...

    Thule Rack + FlipPac

Just another thought, what about Yakima Wide Body mounts attached just below the lid on the sides of the flippac. Should space the towers out enough to clear the top although it may take the taller raingutter towers to do it. Removes the option of even cheating the lid open a little bit with...
