Why no SAS on "expo" type trucks???

I'd love to find out if Honda's AWD system is worth a damn these days, it sure as hell wasn't in '04 when they built my old Element. Thing defaulted to 2WD all too often when I needed traction the most. Ridgeline looks really good to me on the surface though. Basic utility, style, size, Honda...

Hadley and Tardis STOLEN, PLEASE HELP LOOK

Oh ****, that's terrible. I doubt it'll make it this far but I'll keep my eyes open as I run up and down the 101 later today.

    2016 adventure build

There's only a $2700 difference between the base SR5 and TRD (same powertrain in DCSB), getting a rear locker eats up much of that and you miss out on the MTS/CC. Opting for a manual on the TRD closed the gap considerably down to around $1k. Comparing SR to TRD and the difference is much wider...

Just out of curiosity, did you buy that locally and if so was Crazy Joe the seller?

    Suspension Thoughts or Comments

I'm very much in the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" camp and rarely deviate (far) from stock suspension. Since I usually travel alone any additional ground clearance or flex gained is often wasted because I am often doing my own cost/benefit analysis with regards to trails being worth my time...

power a home refrigerator with a Tacoma and huge inverter?

Depends on the Amp draw of the fridge. Using just predicted kWh you also need a duty cycle to even start to get napkin numbers. Voltage multiplied by Amperage will give you the draw. From there you will know what size inverter you need (give yourself plenty of headroom here). From there you can...

forty2's (witty title here) '16 Tacoma

Interior pics, round 2: Note: the mirror in the last photo is a Subaru part, plug and play, cheaper than near identical OEM unit that isn't a factory option in the TRDs. Anyway, things are starting to come together. Compressor is coming in about a month or so and will be hard mounted...

Not a lot of off-road, but a bunch of new scenery for us

Having spent the lions share of my life living in OR and WA it's fun to read about my stomping ground through a fresh set of eyes. Ft. Stevens was always one of my favorites as a kid. Looking forward to the rest of your report.

    Radio Help

Same deal, while the radio encompasses the GMRS/FRS bands it's still a ham radio. I don't know the laws around GMRS gear other than licensing and the 5 watt limit, the radio may or may not be legal to use for that purpose. I would highly recommend looking into a ham tech license rather than...

    Radio Help

That is a ham radio and you'll need a license to transmit legally with it. It's not a very good unit but for short range convoy comms without breaking the bank it's fine.

    Which Verizon Hotspot?

Check to see if your phone is hotspot capable and go with that. My last 4 Android phones have all had the ability, the last two natively. No additional costs involved, except the extra data you rack up of course.

forty2's (witty title here) '16 Tacoma

I adore the color. I got the truck though a dealer allocation order so I had the opportunity to choose the color, this was the only real option as far as I'm concerned. That's right. No difference, 6800lb max tow capacity (w/ tow package) with either transmission. Not needed with a manual...

    Boonie's Black Bomber Build

I really dig those racks, so well thought out and very clean design. Been thinking a lot about how I'm going to handle my usual roof load of two kayaks and a SUP, and I think that'll do the job nicely.

forty2's (witty title here) '16 Tacoma

Picked up my new truck yesterday, '16 Tacoma 4x4 TRD OR with a manual trans1. It's been 8 years and a couple of AWDs since my last Toyota truck. I've been kicking myself the whole time for leaving the fold too. Anyway, I don't know that it's fair to call this a build thread. I'm big on not...

Supercharged Toyota Trail Team FJ Edition 4x4 extremely modified

Here's a link to the rules for the classifieds. You should be able to find the appropriate place from there. As an aside, joining a forum for the sole purpose of selling your truck is pretty widely accepted as bad form. Forums are communities like any other and carpetbaggers are rarely welcomed...
