Fiberglass M416/M100 Military-style Trailer Tub Kit

Jeff, forgot to add that I personally like the flat front/rear vs. the bevel but that may just be me. I think it's fine either way. . Another question: in your option to bolt together the crosswise split with a hinge at the side, could the fastening system be more flexible such that one could...

Fiberglass M416/M100 Military-style Trailer Tub Kit

I like the length-wise split as it would allow me to open one side for my kitchen setup. In thinking more generally, I can see advantages to each, particularly with a tailgate - can't recall the details on the lid lip in terms of opening the tailgate with the length-wise split. One advantage...

    Action Packer Source?

The last couple I bought were online WW - see Mark's link above, much cheaper than any store pricing by about $20. Four of the 35 gal. size fit perfectly in an M416 trailer! Reminds me of Joe vs. the Volcano and the steamer trunks... :-)

Post favorite pics of your rig and trailer

Trailer looks good. Nice topper on the truck too - what brand/model?

    Extend lunette

I like BADDANDY's approach as it also gives shorter safety chains... as in ones that might actually work! Very creative, never would have thought the angles would allow that much extension.

    Extend lunette

Hopefully this pic gives you a sense of my idea - a little more options in terms of what you put on the end. . . The holes are to weld a 2" sleeve to the lunette shaft, then holes in the 2" reciever to weld to the sleeve. Can put a pintle on the end, a regular ball hitch (mounted on a 2"...

    M416 Galvy Trailer Build

Looks great - I like the contrast with the frame, shows it off a bit! Have fun using it!

Fiberglass M416/M100 Military-style Trailer Tub Kit

What I love most about these trailers is the nearly unlimited number of ideas people have to customize them - it's a hobby for many of us, but your hobby is very unique in that companies have discovered you and actually turn out commercial products. Many times in other areas of my life, I find...

Fiberglass M416/M100 Military-style Trailer Tub Kit

I had done a sketchup drawing to help me visualize how I could cut it from one sheet of plywood, allowing it to break down and be stored in the trailer for transport. The dimensions may be off slightly as I made some last minute changes, but it's been a while and I'd have to break out the...

Fiberglass M416/M100 Military-style Trailer Tub Kit

I think the lip is fine - a lot of folks, well maybe 50/50, end up with a lip so that the vertical edges are in the same plane. Sure hope somebody picks up your design and builds these! Nice work.

Fiberglass M416/M100 Military-style Trailer Tub Kit

I like your split down the middle lengthwise as I have a kitchen setup that hangs from the lip on one side of the trailer. Would allow the other side to remain covered but still easily accessible (assuming the extra hardware to allow both sides to open at once). Although I would like the...

Fiberglass M416/M100 Military-style Trailer Tub Kit

On the height, I've seen lids that allow foldable bag chairs to be strapped under the lid, which is very handy. I do think asthetically it looks best if it's slightly less tall than the height of the tub at that point. Could still hang fishing poles, tent poles, etc. I prefer a driver...

Fiberglass M416/M100 Military-style Trailer Tub Kit

I just want it to retrofit to my existing M416... :-) A little depth for things that stick up (storage bins in trailer, so things like chairs, other soft items), allows tailgate to function without opening top, hinged but also removable, sturdy enough to mount racks on top of top, gas shock...

    Slow but steady M416 build

Hey guys, on the SOA, see Don Beasley's build thread - he has the better way. Essentially, you rotate the axle tube, leaving the brake assemblies in place and so keeping the brake cable from dangling. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/66531-M416-Build-to-go-behind-my-CJ

    February NRA special

Found the original reference: http://nrahuntersrights.org/Article.aspx?id=7766 Now I need to call the national office and see if they'll give me credit for my 5 yr renewal... Even if not, a great deal. :-)

    my m416 project

Leave it to Don to switch the axle around the easy/right way... ;-) You can always abandon the existing wiring and go buy a trailer harness kit that plugs into the tail lights. Not too expensive and you'll know it's wired right.
