Quick options for my fridge power

I saw that, it is tempting. Maybe I will order and have it waiting for me when I get home.

Quick options for my fridge power

Thanks for the detailed response. I have read of people running their fridges from PLB40s for two days and they only have 40ah. Is it the difference in the batteries between the PLB and a lead acid for the run times? Unless there is an easy way to hook up a lead acid to the Dometic, I really...

Quick options for my fridge power

Thanks, but as I said, solar is not an option with my time frame. But it is on the list for the future.

Quick options for my fridge power

I will have to check tomorrow on brand, but it is a group 25 dual battery system. They are about six months old. I have not had it tested but will try to do that tomorrow. What does ‘duff’ mean? if it is the battery then I could replace it for less than a PLB would cost, but would a new battery...

Quick options for my fridge power

I am running a Genesis dual battery setup, no issues for four months. This week I added a Dometic CFX3 45 to it. It ran great from 7pm last night until around 6pm tonight and then it killed the battery. The truck still started with no issue, but no fridge. I had the fridge set to low battery...

Pull-Out Platform for Kitchen Module (Now with YOUTUBE Video!)

Our camper is on a Gladiator. I put the boxes (kitchen gear, food, and recovery gear) on the left and the cooler goes on the right. There is room at the back door to put the toilet chair during the night. I considered Goose Gear but decided I wanted to be able to remove the cabinetry from the...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

that is really weird. I have intrusion where the camper and bed meet, but that looks like a truck issue. I do not understand how water could even get that high unless you were splashing through huge puddles.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I asked my installer and he said they are only cosmetic. Based on photos I have seen, I believe the short bed Tacoma has a smaller panel and the long bed does not have one at all.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I considered rivets but had sheet metal screws with finish washers on hand. Rivets would be nice. I have leaks where the camper meets the bed where the tailgate was. I have used butyl tape and caulk, but need to go over it again. It would have been so much easier to water and dust proof it...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I admit I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I used Southco hinges They are not cheap, but the aesthetics and size were right. I initially tried to find some where I would be able to use the channel so I would not have to drill the camper, but the hinges were too big and obvious. I used...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

My build is pretty much done. I need to attach the second GP panel, install a paper towel holder, and add a USB port or two, but it is very functional. This week I added hinges to the gusset panel between the cab and camper. This will allow me to store stinky cycling clothes, shoes, and...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I had not thought about that, but i would think that there would be enough on top of the mattress that it would hold most of the tent up. If I do it I will leave half there for bed making so I think it would be ok.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

For the most part, is fairly useless, I agree. We use it some when making the bed in the morning or we set our iPads on it when reading before going to bed. But we could get by without. I have considered cutting it in half, leaving the passenger side (adding a support) so we have the ability...

How to deal with side to side sway?

Hmm. I talked to the guys that have done work on the truck and they said it might help. And I did not buy the sway bar from then, so it was not just a sales tactic. We will see.

How to deal with side to side sway?

I installed bags and a 2.5” lift on my Gladiator Mojave to try to fix the sag and bouncing from steel bumpers, winch and an AluCab canopy camper. It is ok Offroad now but going through some road turns (especially driveways with grade differential) it rocks a lot. I ordered a HellwIg anti sway...

Pull-Out Platform for Kitchen Module (Now with YOUTUBE Video!)

Very nice. I used 2040 to build a rack in AluCab canopy camper. The framing is really cool and fairly easy to work with.

Show me your vehicle-mounted or quick-deploy kitchen setups

I have an Expedtion Essentials EXO stove on the door of my AluCab CC. I love it. Quick to deploy and great temp control.

270 Awning... Driver side or Passenger side?

I have an AluCab Canopy Camper so obviously my awning is on the drivers side. when I was originally planning to get a canopy and add a roof rack and awning and still would have placed it on the driver’s side. I like being able to see it easier in my mirror or by sticking my head out the window.

Alu-Cab Has Landed In The USA!

What have you guys done to mount your tailgate backup camera or a rear view mirror camera? I have some ideas but and hoping for someone has already figured something out. I found the attached mount on IG (top left of photo) and asked AluCab about it, it is apparently not made. It would be ideal.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I picked up some t-slot end feed fasteners for use inside the truck but am also looking for SS hardware for outside. I just texted my ACCC dealer to see if he can source them.
