Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I am using a Kuat pivot swing out with a 1up rack. It is great for general camping and access to the rear of the camper. The issue we have is when actually driving Offroad, the Kuat rubs really easy. I need to figure another way to mount the bikes as this is not sustainable. I have seen a guy...

    My Escape Life

After addressing your debt and with no other apparent responsibilities, I think you are in a great position to try the van life. See how it works out after two, and then four, and six weeks and decide from there. Maybe you adjust well and make it a lifestyle change, and maybe you do not and go...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I heard back from my contact at Kuat. They changed the design recently due to the cam pieces breaking but naturally there are still racks being sold with the old one. They are sending me a replacement and I should not expect further issues.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Yeah, I hope it was just a bad batch. What kind of R&D do you do? I am in the market for a gravel bike, what do you recommend? I borrowed a friends 3T this weekend and had a blast. Actually ended up riding it mostly on single track. Now I need one and if I get one, my wife gets one.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

i bought the Pivot because it was immediately available as opposed to a few weeks lead time for the Rak Attach on the sites I looked at. I installed the Pivot, tightened it like I used to tighten my Sherpa and less than I tighten the 1Up. It seemed tight and then the next day I noticed it was...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

nice setup. How do you like the Rak Attach. I have been running 1Up racks on my wife’s and my vehicles for seven years and only needed a swing hitch with the camper. I bought a Kuat Pivot and am second guessing that decision within the first week of use.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I was going to install bags this weekend but could not slip in to the coils gaps and did not want to actually remove the coils. It goes to the shop Wednesday for them to do it. I decided thst even with the bags, it will probably get a 2”-2,5” loft in the next month. Six inch lift! What size...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

the Mojave suspension being a bit softer than other trim levels, it is squatting more than is ideal. I plan to install (or try to install) bags on the back this weekend but I fear it will not be enough. I have started looking at 2 and 2.5” lifts to address the sag. I spoke to the guys at Clayton...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

We picked up the Gladiator with AluCab Canopy Camper installed Thursday of last week. Friday we took of for its inaugural overlanding trip. We love it! It is so much nicer than ground camping, fast up and fast down. The second night we were on a ridge with heavy winds and though it was about...

ALUMINUM EXTRUSION cargo shelf and barrier, quick and simple!

@kruetze great execution there, I like the piston fit drawers vs sliders. I was trying to decide how to finish the top panel, the carpet is a better idea than just poly for comfort and durability I think.

ALUMINUM EXTRUSION cargo shelf and barrier, quick and simple!

I like that setup. How did you mount the drawer slides and what did you use for the top? I am getting ready to build some cabinets for the AluCab on our Gladiator and am planning to use 2020 but need to figure out the paneling and top. The side panels will probably be 1/4 plywood but I want...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

i am dropping my truck off Sunday for the camper install, i am excited. I have decided to build my cabinets myself, probably using extruded aluminum T slot framing for the frame and then either plywood for the front and top or a composite material. For those of you who have done something...

Hello, New and impressionable member here. We ordered an ACCC from AVO today, it should arrived in about two weeks. I am still reading through the 45 pages but was too excited to wait to post.
