Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

That would be interesting. You would need to put one on each side of the door or change the hinge bolts to anti tamper because someone could just remove the bolts and gain access.

The JTs ability to handle weight

I like the matching fenders and hard top. My wife’s JL is white with the non-painted fenders. I tried to get them painted but she would not let me.

    Refilling 1lb tanks at home

more concerning from running a propane heater or piping the gas inside in general? We only run the heater for about 30-45 min before going to sleep and we have a CO monitor, so low risk. But you are correct that we each have to define our level of risk.

    Refilling 1lb tanks at home

We use 1” tanks for our Buddy heater. Before next winter I will have an adapter to run off the 11lb tank mounted to the truck and the hose will be piped inside for the heater and outside for the stove. My life is worth more than refilling tanks myself.

The JTs ability to handle weight

I have steel bumpers and an awning, fully fitted out with camping gear and two bikes I weigh in around 6900lbs. The allegedly HD 3” JKS coils are not sufficient for the weight so I have been running airbags. I have a set of HD Dobinsons coils in the garage now that should get installed at the...

    Wedge Camper Safety?

Two are not needed to hold the camper up, just to keep it even. So if one goes, they other will be fine. If it is a big enough gust of wind to push the camper down, I am more concerned with trees falling on me. Car crash vs a camper coming down is an apples to oranges comparison, but ok.

    Wedge Camper Safety?

Agreed, but the chance of both failing at the same time is not likely. Even with age and low temps, they are not likely to drop the top on you.

    Wedge Camper Safety?

We have an AluCab canopy camper and it has a trap door at the back of the truck. We keep it up when we are sleeping so we can climb down to the bathroom in the middle of the night. In the unlikely event that both struts were to give at the same time, the trap door would catch the top allowing us...

How are you guys handling yourselves in strange circumstances off the grid?

We were camping last year and a couple of cyclists came by on gravel bikes. They stopped to wait for their group and my wife and I, being cyclists, asked if they needed anything. They said they had food and water and only had a few miles to their camp. We offered to let them stay with us since...

How are you guys handling yourselves in strange circumstances off the grid?

yeah, 130pm would have been a different story. not much different, but different.

How are you guys handling yourselves in strange circumstances off the grid?

Maybe normal sized, but 8“ taller than me. Go find a guy 8” taller than you and tell me how you feel. Things were going south without my input so I kept my input to myself. Not being afraid and friendly can work wonders, but 130am with intoxicated people is not the time for a social...

How are you guys handling yourselves in strange circumstances off the grid?

Out of curiosity, how tall are you and how much do you weigh? I am 5’-4”, 140lbs, and fit. I am not a threat, but I can be an easy target. I am situationally aware and my whole life I have had to worry about bigger guys. The solution for me was not to get out and great them because if it went...

How are you guys handling yourselves in strange circumstances off the grid?

So I had an interesting night back in December. I went to visit dad and stayed in his tiny house Friday but decided to camp Saturday. I went to Manchester State Forest about 20 min from his house. There are a bunch of mtb trails there and the adjacent Poinsett State Park which worked well for my...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Storage is not my goal, better gas mileage is. I would like to adapt a faring to fit to the t tops or the ACCC that can be easily removed. A Sherpa rack would achieve that but interferes with the t tops. I will need to fabricate some brackets to attach to the camper so a fairing hangs over...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

interesting solution but I do not want to have to remove a rack to open the tops. I guess I will just continue to accept the bad mileage. It will get worse this week when the 35s go on.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Any way to add something by that on a Gladiator but maintain the ability to remove the t tops?

    Generator ban in California?

I would extend past official wilderness areas and say the outdoors where people are camping and trying to enjoy nature. Add amplified music (usually Bluetooth speakers these days) to that too. I do not want to hear music I like when I camp, so I sure as heck do not want to hear your music that...
