    Hosting in Vancouver

I'm in Van, but, as with most Vancouverites, I can only offer street parking for your camper. It's a relatively crime free area though, if that is any consolation. Maybe a little more info on you guys would spark a little more interest. As it stands my place is always open to other travelers, as...

99 Diesel Montero in Costa Rica

The suspension is exactly the same. What are you looking to replace, the springs/torsion bars/shocks, or the bushings. Most people rave about the OME suspension for the springs/shocks combo. I would buy the rubber OEM bushings rather than the urethane replacement kits, as most people that have...

    35's on Gen 2/2.5

I've had 35s on all four of my mitsus, only my 91 pajero (2nd gen) had a 1 3/4" BL, the rest had the T-bars cranked and perhaps a bit of a suspension lift in the back. My 93 Paj had no lift whatsoever for quite a while, but I just ordered the 2" spring spacers and I cranked the T-bars. For...

    HID vs LED vs Halogen

I will agree that in some cases an HID conversion will have stray light, but in most cases this can be adjusted so as to not blind oncoming traffic. The majority of the "blinding" HID conversions are not adjusted at all after they are installed, and yes most are not DOT approved. It's not that...

    HID vs LED vs Halogen

HIDs are the most cost effective way of greatly increasing your light output and can be retrofitted into most headlights. The draw is significantly less than halogens as well. LEDs are expensive and for the most part can not be retrofitted, thus you are stuck with auxiliary lamps. Personally I...

    Show me your 2dr

So I just posted these on the mitsu pics sticky thread, but, since shorties are the best, I have to show the 2dr love. This is my fourth 2dr mitsu; 87 raiderx2, 91 pajero, and this 93 pajero.

    CVT Group Buy!

Missed out on this, for all still interested, should we inquire about organizing another one? Or perhaps the order load was a bit overwhelming for Bobby, lol.

    EVOLUTION V55 parts available.

They had a coil front suspension with totally different arms to give a much wider track. The front diff came with a limited slip, now the biggie, even the rear suspension was independent. That engine is rather nice as well, makes a reported 280-300 horse, don't you wish your 3.5L made that? I...

    Gen II Armor

I just reread your post and realized you said 4" tubing for the rear bumper, you are right to go with a thicker wall when using a larger diameter tubing as it will dent easier than smaller diameter tubing. Just lift a piece of 1/4" x 4" tubing and see how heavy it is and remember your suspension...

    Gen II Armor

3/8" steel is complete overkill to the point of adding too much weight to your truck. I used 1/4" aluminum to save weight, if bent and reinforced/attached properly that is more than sufficient. If you insist on steel check out skid plates from various manufacturers for other 4x4s and make...

Auto Technica Garage's Rally raid project!

It's gonna sound like a tractor when the wastegate opens, or are you going to extend that dump a bit? 4G's with a short open dump are always good for scaring people though, lol, wastegate opens and it sounds like armageddon.

I wish simex would sell their tires in north america, I freakin love those things. Your Shogun looks tough with those jungle trekkers on.

    new jimny design

Those mirrors on the fender are usually aimed down to aid in parking. I had one on my Pajero when I got it from Japan, I immediately removed it before a tree or some brush did it for me. Jimnys are sooo freakin cool, I've got a 79 LJ 80, I would love a newer Jimny to park beside my old one.

    SR locker, looking for advice

Haha, true, and even if a quad is less than 800cc it would still have more power. I had free access to a dyno when I first got it and I wanted to see what it made, ready to be astounded??? It made a whopping 26.2 HP and 34 ft/lbs, I know the engine was tired, but it was only supposed to be 40HP...

    SR locker, looking for advice

I turned the regulator all the way down and then turned it up until the locker engaged, so I'm sure I'm fine. Yes it does drift nicely with the locker engaged, lol, but that just means I have to plan ahead and switch the locker on first. Huge difference wheeling with the locker on. Here is the...

    SR locker, looking for advice

So I got a locker when I was down south, threw it in a few days ago and finally got the air lines all set up today. Seems to work perfectly, tomorrow I'll put it through it's paces just to make sure. Driving around is strange now that I don't have an LSD, I kinda liked drifting around corners...

    SR locker, looking for advice

I'm not bringing a trailer and we are camping/exploring on the way down and back up, so no room for an entire axle and camping gear in a shorty Paj. I've pulled the axle shafts and third member before, so no biggie there.
