2016 F-150 Lariat- Perfect for FWC SOLD

For sale is a meticulously maintained 2016 Ford f-150 Lariat Truck. It only has about 73,000 miles on it, and is still under an extended factory warranty(100k miles or June 2024) We are moving into our Fuso Build, so no longer need this. I've lightly modified it to make it a bit better both...

    2007 FG140 Overheating

After installing the new fan clutch, doing a coolant flush, and adding the aftermarket thermometer, I hit about 205-208 degrees F on a pass on a 60 degree day with a bit of rain. Haven't had a chance to run it on a hot day. Does anyone have examples of water temperatures that these engines are...

    2007 FG140 Overheating

@SkiFreak yes, I am sure that is a possibility as well. And I'd likely be able to do it myself, I do know there will be some modifications required of the fan shroud and potentially the mounting points for the radiator. Exploring my options at the moment.

    2007 FG140 Overheating

@SkiFreak yep, the shop is in Oregon, and I'm in Colorado, might need to plan a roadtrip around it!

    2007 FG140 Overheating

@SkiFreak this is a great point to consider. So far, I have yet to see the engine get above 200F on my newly installed aftermarket gauge. Haven't tested it on any passes yet though, so the jury is still out. Might just do a coolant flush and replace with standard coolant instead of waterless...

    2007 FG140 Overheating

@billiebob that has crossed my mind too. Think I might order some waterless coolant, and do a flush ahead of that with the special flush liquid. Yesh, totally understand that passes are going to get it hot on hot days. I've now installed a thermometer, but still have not found any spec on what...

    2007 FG140 Overheating

Thanks @weekenderdefender. I will pull the stock sender unit that goes to the dash and replace with an aftermarket sensor and gauge. Looking at both the engine and service manuals, I am not seeing a safe temperature range. Anybody know the "normal" temps that this generation of Fuso's tend to...

    2007 FG140 Overheating

Thanks so much for this detailed response, @SkiFreak ! I have read so many of your posts on this site in researching this issue(and many things before this one.) These are all great things to think about- maybe it's not actually "overheating", just getting warmer, like I would expect on a big...

    2007 FG140 Overheating

Hey Folks, Over the past few weeks, my wife and I assisted Allan at Overlander Global in installing our composite box onto our 2007 Fuso 4x4. We bought the chassis last year with only 48k miles on it from a wildland firefighting company, and replaced the oil in engine, Tcase, trans, and diffs...

    Heather and Dana's 2007 Fg140 Camper Build

FUSO Chassis Modifications In this post I’ll detail how we settled on the Fuso platform, our search and pickup process, and our chassis exterior modifications. We’ve made a few videos of these steps, which I’ll leave links to in case you want to follow long. Heather and I have owned a lot of...

    Heather and Dana's 2007 Fg140 Camper Build

Hey folks, my wife(Heather) and I (Dana) are in the process of building out a 2007 Mitsubishi Fuso FG140 into an expedition camper. We've owned vans, trucks, and Subaru's, and are pretty stoked to have something with the capability of a truck, and the space of a van. We have purchased our...

SOLD 2015 Sprinter 170" Durango, CO

For sale is our 2015 Mercedes Sprinter. 170 wheelbase, high roof. We are the second owners of this van, and we bought it from our friends when they upgraded. It has a very solid but simple build out, with a focus on outdoor activities- namely mountain biking and skiing. While this is not the...

    [SOLD] EXPEDITION RIG FOR SALE

Hey, Couple more questions: Gas or Diesel? What's the fuel capacity? Do you have an approximate fuel consumption figure? Thank you!

    ISO Mitsubishi Fuso 4x4- USA

Yeah, the things we do for powder:) This year we did a week in -20 F in Idaho, that even our well insulated sprinter with an overpowered Diesel heater had trouble keeping up with. Thanks for all the info. I may just give them a call.

    ISO Mitsubishi Fuso 4x4- USA

Thanks Buckstopper. Sounds like a better day-to-day experience than a 4WC. I spent many sleepless nights in the 4WC in high winds, swearing to never do a pop-up again. How about heat? We consistently camp in below 0 Fahrenheit, and the propane heater in our 4WC (with Artic pack) was never...

    ISO Mitsubishi Fuso 4x4- USA

Thanks Buckstoppper. I have checked out your rig, and it is killer! The one issue is the pop-up: we really want a full height hard sided camper. We've had a 4WC in the past, and the constant rearranging, plus the concern of the thing crushing you or getting destroyed in high winds made us switch...

    ISO Mitsubishi Fuso 4x4- USA

I've gotten a few great replies to this post, and it's been super interesting seeing all the builds! I'll add a few more details here as I've narrowed my search: I need something that is capable of using either high sulfur diesel or regular gasoline so that I can run it safely in South America...

    ISO Mitsubishi Fuso 4x4- USA

Thanks Tayski. Love the platform- wondering if you've had any issues with the frame of the camper welded to to the frame of the truck. From what I've read, the twisting of the frame when going off road can lead to issues.

Steyr 12 M 18, expedition truck, Apple Valley, CA $99K

Anyone have experience getting parts and service for these in the US? We love the interior and truck, but not sure how maintenance will be. Also it needs to be imported, and wondering what that would cost.
