I thought about getting something a little more beefy, but the camper is so light and it fits with the tailgate closed so I just roll with it. Plus they were included with the purchase price. The camper is actually a 1992, way newer than the truck.

Your LT1 will bolt right up, to the tranny(which if it has overdrive, its a 700R4 not a TH400). Should bolt right up to the FI too. Although the FI might not be enough if the LT1 is built. Carb swap is easy if you want to go that route.
