    Slow Build: 2013 JK

Thanks! Trying to keep it simple. Doing a DIY tailgate table this weekend too. I'll put up pictures of that as well. So far I'm $10 into it. I might even keep *gasp* STOCK SUSPENSION!!! Not tires though. I also have a leveling kit. So I guess its not stock then. Never mind. ...

    Slow Build: 2013 JK

Alright! Installed: Got it done in about 3 hours, working alone. What a great product. All the hardware was there, and the finish is super nice. Only had to look at the instructions a couple times, it's pretty dang easy. I got the mesh insert for over the "freedom panels" and the wind faring...

    Whats wrong with Panniers?

My thoughts: -you can still grab a backpack and head out, nobody is stopping you. I did that just last weekend. Brought a sandwich, jacket, and a couple of beers, then hit the road. It was a great day. -for longer multi-day trips, *just* a backpack is not going to cut it as far as space. Sorry.

    Downsizing To A Jeep......

All good points. Although, I wonder how resale is going to be in the next 5 years or so given the amount of these sold.

    Downsizing To A Jeep......

IMHO, the premium is not worth it. My 2013 Sport S has all the extras you mention (auto headlights, power doors, keyless entry, hill descent control, 3.73 phone integration,) 17" wheels ((blessing or a curse I guess)) and I was out the door for $30k. I could build a pretty killer suspension...

    Slow Build: 2013 JK

Finally ordered my Gobi Stealth today! Only a few months later than I would like. Oh well. I have a plan for mounting my bikes too. I would like them vertical, and on either side of the spare tire. Enter the Kuat Dirtbag: It allows you to mount a bicycle fork basically anywhere you like...

    Slow Build: 2013 JK

Couple small updates: Installed: Got a rear tire rack from work for a low, low, low price, so I stuck it on. I remember now why I hate these things. The bikes sit crooked, they stick out to one side even with it being offset like it is now, and the bike paint gets messed up by the straps...

I've caught the Jeep thing, now what?

My plan for now is to see how far I can make it on the stock suspension...I find most of the "opportunity" for me lies with getting interior storage and some things sorted there. For the trips I'm doing, I have every confidence that the stock bits are fine for now. I'm contemplating taking the...

    Slow Build: 2013 JK

Sitting at 6k miles now. Still love it. It's been my DD (mostly) It's hauled bikes (4 att he same time...inside), dogs, beer, camping gear, 10 folding tables, mulch, tree debris, and all the other crap that I drag around. That said, I am in the planning phase of a 2 week driving trip for next...

I've caught the Jeep thing, now what?

Nice, congrats! I bought my JK a few months ago and was a bit overwhelmed at what I could buy for it. The amount of products out there is staggering, as I'm sure you know. 3.73, and the anti-spin were must-haves for me, and I am pretty happy about having them. Good call. Got lucky with some...
