What's your favourite frying pan? Market Research

I am under the impression that was based on some faulty data, but no matter I think that once anodized the food never touches the bare aluminum. I only use one bare aluminum pan, the Woody Dutch Oven and have never rally worried about it since I don't use it that often, sort of like eating tuna...

What's your favourite frying pan? Market Research

Not sure your view of anodized aluminum but the Banks Fry~Bake pans can be scrubbed out with sand and are easy to clean .

What's your favourite frying pan? Market Research

GSI made two lightweight anodized aluminum pressure cookers that work very well. I have used them in a couple of my videos and am very happy with them. Not sure you can run them on ‘harsh’ heat source but most will scorch if the fire is too hot for too long. Perhaps a flame tamer would help if...

    Snow Peak Addiction

Sorry, I am just seeing this. What are the risers for? Looks like they would really help the single BBQ box burn better if that is what they are for.

10L "Jerry can", 11L Dometic "Go Hydration" or Rotopax for water?

We are currently using the 20L Scepter cans and find them very handy. Tipping can be a PITA for sure so we have slapped together this simple valve system. If you want to tip it and leave it tipped you will want to tighten around the fitting with a hose clamp, just pressed on it will dribble a...

What's your favourite frying pan? Market Research

I agree 100% with your highlighting of this pan, I too picked one up and fell in love with it when camping. If anyone wants to see more on this pan I did a review of it on my YouTube channel and named it one of my best camping gear finds of 2022. You can see the video here- When I am light...

    My vacuum sealer journey

I use one quite often, not only for overlanding but bulk buys, breaking down larger cuts etc. I still use a GameSaver from FoodSaver that I have had for quite a while and, when I bought it, came with a lifetime warranty. I use it for smaller, quicker jobs as it is light and easy to maneuver. I...

I hate to admit it but I am not sure which one is less appetizing!

How to keep cast iron cookware from flogging your gear off road?

Not the cheapest option but we have used these bags and they work very well. Still need to pack accordingly with the heavy stuff tucked away safely but this helps with abrasive issues.

    Water container recs/stowage of them...

Question for Scepter owners-I purchased three water jugs las September and used them for a trip. I got them from Walmart Online for what I thought was a good price and all are marked Scepter Canada as they should be. When I got them they had a very strong resin type oder inside that persisted...

    Overlanding Ovens

I own both the Omnia and Coleman ovens. Both work ok with some practice (bottom burning a problem for both from my experience and talking to folks) but none, in my humble opinion, work as well as a cast iron dutch oven as Laps said above. For solo and lighter weight I also like the Banks...

    What's your dream sleep system?

Some good info here for someone that is still using their decades old Therm A Rest classic, same vintage sleeping bags etc in my ground tent. Honestly I actually sleep pretty well and the biggest change for me is a portable power system to power my CPAP. I have been looking at possibly upgrading...

    No refrigeration needed

I posted this on another topic but think that it fits here well also. We did a fair bit of dehydrating meals before a month long trip last year and we put up a quick video showing how we did it and the resources we used. Have a look if you think it would be helpful. We have also used a lot of...

What are some of the best places in Illinois for camping

Feb Camping will be cold no doubt and not sure what part of IL you are thinking but I really like Shabbona SP if you can get into the sites by the lake (and in Feb if it is open shouldn't be a problem!). Also like White Pines and Rock Cut if you can get by the lake. Apple River Canyon nice as well.

    A Really Nice Axe Bag

I recently received the Straight Grain Supply Axe and Utility Bag (nice gift) and have had the chance to give it the once over and start to put some gear in to see what fits. I think it is a great little bag to carry your wood processing tools and other gear as you see fit so wanted to link my...

    Easy clean up meals?

Sorry I just saw this question. I have never been a dehydrated meal guy but we found ourselves taking a month long trip in our JKU after dropping our son at college which meant that we had no room for a cooler. This turned out to be a bit of a blessing as it forced us to rethink our packing and...

    Sausage making discussions

I am a bit late to the scene here and will link my video on sausage making. I have made quite a bit but would not say I am an expert, perhaps decent amateur is the right word. Bottom line is that the sausages split due to internal pressure so I normally prick my sausages before cooking them...

    Easy clean up meals?

We did a long trip recently and relied on home dehydrated meals which were delicious and so easy to make. For a bit more complexity but still keeping with a simple theme we do a lot of dutch oven cooking-one pot (generally) and clean up is pretty easy as we often use the pot as our dish washing...
