Hasn’t the rage and hate one been locked for a few months. Since a few members couldn’t play nice with others. I’ve really been enjoying Stevens trip to the Arctic circle, a nice 4000+ mile trip in his P400 SE.

Some more progress. the lower doors had to be sadly replaced. They were badly cut up when the old hinges were fitted. Previous builder fitted 86/88” top door hinges. To both top and bottom of the 80” door. So they got replaced with correct 80” doors, hinges and cappings. The dash is coming...

I’ll be having mine fitted with the rear locker when I’m in a position to do so. We intend to keep it for a long time so will be speccing the 110 to exactly how we want it. Emma likely won’t off road it but I will.

Do we have a side on picture of the Lucky8 110? Curious about the ladder and how far it sits off the bodywork.

I really liked the practicality of my FR rack. the protection and painting left a lot to be desired. I had a warranty claim for the mountings. I had three claims for the rack corners and expedition rail kits. Shame as the rack was excellent but the quality was garbage. I had rust and corrosion...

That’s curious. Front runner have their rack out, with the same style wind fairing as on the D3/4 racks.

I still can’t understand why JLR sell any 4x4 with anything bigger than a 20” wheel. The tyres are silly expensive ( 22” continental OEM is £255 a corner ) and they are sensitive to potholes etc. Doesn’t really give the appearance of the toughest Land Rover ever with drug dealer wheels fitted...

Oxford is a lovely thing. Saw it at a landy show 3 years ago. Rebuild and painted where it has to get work done. The rest.... left as is. That patina has been in the making since 1955 so it would be rude to wipe it out. cost me a dvd purchase to sit in it. Amazing bit of history. It’s owner...

Monty’s rebuild is slowly continuing. Will get all the panels lining up properly then get the roll cage built up.

D300.... Excellent. that’s the engine I’ll have mine with, a 4 cylinder is nice but a 6 will give a better driving experience.

The car I drove had 2795 miles when I handed it back. the brakes were sharp, with none of the issues others have said about. Even Emma commented on how good the brakes were. As she hit them hard for thr first time and gave the seatbelts a good workout :rolleyes:

Today I drove this. A D240 SE, Santorini black with cream interior. With the explorer pack on. I did over 100 miles, of various driving, in town, motorway, A roads, winding B and C roads. Let my GF drive it. The full works bar off road as the paperwork said not to use it off road or put animals...

Could he have run at a higher gear for better mpg? 4K rpm is quite high to me. Would it have still done 60mph in a higher gear and use some more of the torque?

This is what is needed. ive had Terrafirma sliders on before. Weren’t wide enough and were slippery when wet. no issues with this set up, makes everything else rubbish imho. if lucky8 aren’t going for something similar then they are missing a truck as Prospeed will.

What the sliders need is step inserts. Prospeed make them for the D3/4 and I’ve a set on my D3. They are superb as they have all the benefit of a rock slider for off roading, but the convenience of a side step. That’s what they need.
