    Hypothetical F250 build

Probably 6.8 is sufficient, but at the point I'm at cost wise what's the extra $2k for resale and being able to say Godzilla?

    Hypothetical F250 build

I have too many friends with first and second gen 3.5 EB with major engine issues. Timing, phasers, etc. I love my cyclones, but no turbos seems to mean no problems. Also not super interested in the second gen 5.0 with all the reported oil consumption issues amongst other.

@Todd n Natalie the LED headlights and lack of chrome are big ones! Going to cost an easy $1000 or more for quality aftermarket headlights. Plus I'm sure it's a delight to replace the assemblies. And to be honest here a 78K truck is me adding 10-15 hours per week of work, and taking a 4...

    Hypothetical F250 build

This is very helpful as I had a 2014 F150 3.7! I added 100# of tire weight, new leaves (80#?), shocks, plus added the reciever Looking at specs it's about 1000# more curb weight for 2000# more payload going to a Supercab F250 from the Fiddy. I weighed the F150 once with the drawers, cap, roof...

I'd like to see it when it's done! Sportsters are ancient tech. 1 5/8" rear travel stock, single disc brakes, no tech save fuel injection past 06 or 07. Not tons of power. Just decent torque low down. Air cooled so you can cook them easy, need to add aux oil cooler, etc if you like riding hard...

    Hypothetical F250 build

Hmm radius arms. Didn't think about that. My familiarity with solid front axles is with WJ jeeps. Four control arms and a track bar. Now I have to do some reading. In any case this would be a Fleet vehicle first and a weekender/couple times a year hauler and back country truck second. Might...

    Hypothetical F250 build

STX is cheapest way to get no chrome. Truck will never be "empty" per se, except on a long road trip but then will have 500# tongue weight on it. Cap and bed slide, couple hundred lb of stuff. In work duty going to be 1500# weight regular or more. Wheel base is same as the Transit, and only 3"...

    Hypothetical F250 build

Getting sick of driving the Transit 250 MR LWB all the time. Not that it isn't amazingly useful, but it's bad on gas (still better than an E series) terrible in the winter (still better than an E series) and underpowered (still better than an E series) With today's bizarre world of sky high...

    badm0t0rfinger's 2014 Raptor build

I'm trying to be the voice of reason here, and now I'm planning out my finances for more motorcycles, a Super Duty, and 285/75R18 tires!!! The amount of money this site makes me wish I had lol.

    badm0t0rfinger's 2014 Raptor build

I shall sit on the other shoulder and be a voice of reason. What would 37s accomplish for you that the 35s have not? Extra weight, extra cost. Heavier to lift etc. Your rebuttal, @Todd n Natalie

Damn right it's fun to have multiple styles of bike!!! I'd fully Bob the Forty Eight, like vestigial rear fender, extend front forks, longer rear shocks, good tires, stage one performance. Forward controls are so awkward for spirited riding I find. So an Iron 1200 or some other variation of...

The street (and only) bike. Unwise choice. But torque in a delightfully broad curve from idle to 3000rpm. For same money could have had a V-Strom 1050A, or a Sportster 1200 or Forty Eight AND a V-Strom 650.

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

Sat in a Colorado trail boss earlier this week. Ok interior. Blows my mind skid plates aren't standard on a trail boss. Back seat was ok with my driving position. But I'm short. Didn't care for how little room there was with back seats folded up, as the tray/divider is large and most of it is...

    F150 tire size?

Offset matters a lot. Stock wheels 34" no problems. Start throwing negative offset wheels on there and you can rub with 33s depending how negative you go. 285/75R17 would be the way I go if not lifting, and for that matter, a 1.5-2" front lift. Also depends on brand. A BFG KO2 "34x10.5R17" is...

    Is your new F150 stolen??

https://news.yahoo.com/stolen-ford-f-150s-sold-153545123.html This article blew my mind, but then again, giant corporations with no liability are prone to not ******. I feel bad for all of the victims here.

    2023 GMC Canyon AT4X

Anyone have any links or threads about going the route of a Chevy WT 4x4 with the locker and doing aftermarket lift and tires, vs doing the Trail Boss and maybe changing tires down the road? Chevy Colorado is the only truck I can build sub 50k CAD with the options I need/want. A trail boss is...

    WK2 slip on towing mirrors

I had a set of CIPA slip on towing mirrors for my F150 that looked decent and worked great. Now that my wife's WK2 is the tow vehicle, I'm trying to find something similar for it. Anyone have suggestions? Or am I stuck getting the generic clamp on mirrors?

Maybe it's the excessive price tags

IIRC there is a steeper final ratio on the Trailhawk, and I'd want the low range and rear locker. But at full and mid size truck prices, I'm not interested. Just been branching out because halfers have been so expensive. Will see how the GC WK2 tows this summer. I could order a 3/4 ton gasser...

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

I've never gone offroading in a manual. Just two pedals and torque converter to take the beating. So the locker can't just be turned on and off while in low range?? That's unfortunate. Kind of limits the use of an E locker.
