Have you tried changing the fuel line between the filter and the Webasto?

It is supplied by its own line directly from the tank.

1990s MB truck owners. Looking for some details!!

I find it a little scary seeing people with no clue about air brakes or any understanding of how drums overheat and fail to stop you if you ride them on a descent, jumping into one of these trucks and driving off. They are easy to drive, but if you don't know what you're doing it can end up very...

1990s MB truck owners. Looking for some details!!

Our truck came with singles from the factory, It is the only one I have ever seen with that option. I would get everything you can dealt with in Germany before you ship it.

One note on singles. There is no question the 20" rim is the way to go "off road". If you plan on driving "bad roads" seriously consider going to the 22.5" rims. There is a large selection of tires available (used in logging and construction) that will give a quieter ride than 20" mil tires...

    Dually Tires

What it comes down to is how much off road do you plan? I mean off road, not bad road. If you plan off road ditch the duals and get super singles. Duals do not track well. ie follow the front tracks. They are susceptible to getting rocks wedged between the tires and do not air down well. As long...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

The only issue we had was the top 2 or 3 bars of the towel bar always had air. If I filled it, it always settled at the same place. You can't get much simpler. The Webasto was controlled by a Heatmiser 12 volt programmable thermostat. It works perfectly with the heater with more functions and...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Diagram is Italian, Basically 2 loops with the Webasto in the middle. The three radiators in the camper all have shut off valves so you can heat water with the engine without heating the camper (warm weather operation). The valve that shuts off the two circuits was electric now manual. This...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

There is no need to bypass the Webasto units, they are designed to pass coolant when not in operation. The Webasto coolant pump will only operate when the Webasto is on. so if you want to use a plate exchanger between the camper and engine you will need the second pump. Our system is simpler, no...

1990s MB truck owners. Looking for some details!!

In South America we learned " no ai!" or not here!. Our truck body had not been sold in SA, however our engine the OM366LA powered everything. Once you could show what you needed it was everywhere!

The "cool factor" of these trucks is hard to overestimate. We met some amazing people that we would not have met with a typical North American vehicle.

I can jump in I had a 1993 917 AF for 10 years 2 continents and 200K+ km North America Parts. Filters belts etc. can all be ordered relatively cheaply online. There are only a couple of mechanics in North America that can confidently deal with these trucks...

Have you disconnected the fuel line at the unit to see that fuel is actually spitting out? If you do have fuel and the blower is going it sounds like the glow plug/igniter is defective. When you say fired up you mean it went through the start sequence (and did not fire up).

The only possible problem with the coolant loop would be a coolant pump failure in the Webasto.

It has nothing to do with the engine loop. The engine thermostat position would also be irrelevant it only controls water going through the radiator.

The tstat is just an on-of switch. If it's calling for heat it's on. you can replace the tstat with an on off toggle or alligator clips and see if it runs to be sure.
