I had 235/85r16 load range E on my Ranger and didn’t think they were too rough. The narrow size kept the weight down a bit too I think.

Is that washer upside down? Put a locking pliers/ vice grips on the top of the shaft to hold it while you spin the nut with an open end wrench. The shaft may even have a hex socket in the end.

I replaced a slide mechanism on one last week. Typical failure prone schwintek that will leave you with a stuck slide. It was nice to see they use some kind of non wood material on the slide floor though. That area is prone to rotting out.

I’ve been a rv tech for two years. The only trailers I see without brakes are very small pop up’s, and even then it’s really rare. I can only remember seeing a handful.

I’m sure that trailer has brakes. Maybe he means he’s going to add a brake controller?
