My 2000 4runner. Linked, Locked, ADDICTED!

Getting close. A few more things to do before its pulled, welded, and painted. 1st pic shows the 1" diameter bolt that will eventually be a twist in T handle. Its sleeved with 1.5 x .250 wall DOM through the swing arm, and lower portion of the bumper.

Really coming to together now. We have a trick idea for the latch setup too as well as a spring loaded locking pin.

My 2000 4runner. Linked, Locked, ADDICTED!

Some more progress on the carrier. I went back and forth about 10 times on whether or not to keep working with it. It was too far away from the body at first, so I decided to switch up the spindle design a little. This is what we came up with before leaving tonight. Its growing on me. Its...

My 2000 4runner. Linked, Locked, ADDICTED!

Well, since nobody has been serious about buying the 4runner, I said screw it. So, I've decided to rework a few things. First of all is a way to carry the spare. So, we cut off the old rear bumper. Its still going to be a combo of plate and tubing, but will have a bombproof, dual sheer spindle...

    2000 4runner. SAS'd, Linked, Locked, BUILT

Would consider a trade for a buggy, or partial for tow rig/trailer setup. Or, a 4th gen 4runner with V8 and 3rd row seat. So, here we go. Here is the build thread. Its not the silver one at the beginning, but you can see where the black one comes into play a few pages in...

    2wd to 4wd????

Yes, it all bolts on. No difference in frame vs 2wd-4wd except a crossmember mount or two. You will need a 4wd trannt/tcase or hit up Inch Worm Gear for an adapter to convert the 2wd case into a 4wd.

My 2000 4runner. Linked, Locked, ADDICTED!

So, I got the tires on it. I built some custom spring hangers since finding u-bolts to fit a 1.75" tube that were long enough was going to be impossible. So, I took a page from my old All-Pro days and built some custom perches that allow me to bolt the springs on. So, I have about 24"...

    2wd to 4wd????

I specifically looked and found a 2wd to convert it. (Less to cut off) My conversion was a little over the top for most guys though. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48836

My 2000 4runner. Linked, Locked, ADDICTED!

Okay, here is some fun tech that is completely off base. My pop-up trailer is a decent size, and for the most part it sleeps everyone just fine. Problem is that when I have the whole family with me in the 4runner, there isn't any room for storage left in it with the three rows filled up. The...

My 2000 4runner. Linked, Locked, ADDICTED!

Rory Desjardin from www.RADesignsproducts.com was kind enough to send me one of his triple shifters as a prototype testing platform. I must say that this kit is pretty damn simple to install. It will require minor cutting of the transmission tunnel, but I sure do wish this kit would have been...

My 2000 4runner. Linked, Locked, ADDICTED!

The front is 66". The rear is 64.5" A 1.5" difference is actually factory spec on just about every vehicle of every make that rolls out of the factory. The front is always 1"-1.5" wider to help with tracking and turning. Your 4runner front is 58.5". The rear is 57". That 4BT rig was a...
