"Yoshi" - 2005 Limited Build & Adventure Thread

12/7/19: For those paying super close attention to this thread, you might remember that I bought an old stock / open box, but never used, Superwinch 12.5SR Winch about a year ago when I first started building this rig. It sat in the garage waiting to be installed but it had a side mounted...

It’s fly by wire on the 3.8L 2003-2006 Montys.

    I made a mistake

I agree with everything offthepath said above. I personally wouldn't consider a 2001-2002 regardless of condition, because IMO 2003+ is so much better performance wise. However, they are more maintenance intensive: 5 speed tranny seems not to last as long as the 4 speed, traction control...

Gen 3 Montero Throttle Body Differences

Very Interesting - Mitsubishi does indeed list a different part number for 2003 than 2004-2006. 2003: MN137646 2004-2006: MN130069 Now, as to whether this actually makes a difference? - no one probably knows but since they are indeed different part numbers and Mitsu's part's catalog says they...

    Gen3 Montero aftermarket suspension sheet

Wow, never heard of those actually, they're not even in the Lovell's Catalog. But yeah, might as well put them on the sheet in case anyone wants to run that much weight in the rear.

Montero may be totaled. What now?

Oh man, that sux! I worry about hitting a deer or elk as well - your ARB front bumper didn’t save the Monty? Post pics if you can. Ok some points: 1. I have an extra $10k of additional coverage for like an extra $200 a year on my Gen3 for this exact reason. If something happens, they are going...

11/4/19: Gentlemen, today was a satisfying day. I received my custom Billet Aluminum Hub Centric Rings and they solved the vibration issues that have been driving me nutz for months. Which is hilarious because as many of us Gen3 guys know, wheels - rings - tires = 99% of vibration issues. This...

    Gen 3 Seat Covers

2001-2002 - I'd go with the finest cheapest ones on the market: The Cabelas Trailgear ones. 2003-2006 - Only a couple companies make air bag compatible seat covers and they're $$ so if just doing it to cover torn leather, might be more cost effective to have the seats reupholstered instead.

3rd Gen rear diff carrier shims

It might have been my thread where you read about Toyota shims being used for some parts of my gear/locker installs. But I don't know which Toyota shims were used or for which gear/side, the tech picked them out of dozens of options based on the measurements needed to complete my specific...
