    manual shifting delay normal?

These are an Asian transmission, use their oil be it branded by them or one of the OEM users like Toyota, BMW Etc that have this family of transmissions. I would not use off brand oil that claim to be compatible, with .... everything.

    Gen 2.5 3.8 Swap

If I recall the 09 has a fair bit of Canbus in the interior side of the harness. More than likely not an issue for just running the engine. The communications link gets involved with the cars instruments and security system which the ECU needs to allow the engine to run. I have yet to deal with...

    Montero clutch problem

Any GOOD clutch has little to no need for any brake in. If it has a grippy facing material and the surfaces were prepared properly you should be able to just drive away. Regular street driving is as easy on any clutch as one will find. Low quality, low grip facing material will never last long.

    Gen 2.5 3.8 Swap

You will love it. It may take me time to recall all the details but ask when you find something you question.

    Forklift 2.6 vs truck 2.6

Back in the mid 80s I got a 2.6 Forklift motor, it was non shaft with no jet valves. To me it seemed to an early G52, 2L engine with more displacement. These are the small valve heads, the original FL carb is a single barrel that visually is a 2 barrel from the early cars, it just does not have...

    Eddy Jones

I just saw on Farcebook that our late Eddy Jones's birthday would be today. I expect few people here place any meaning to his name but for a few of us will remember how great a man he is.

    Pajero Mk2 SWB MIVEC Build

Over the past week I have spent allot of hours reading every post in this thread, I get strong memories reflecting back to the Wire with all the helpful and constructive comments and conversations. I also realized how much I hurried most all my earlier posts, spelling errors for the most part...

    Montero SR build (Pajero)

The issue as I see it is this Expurt is the one doing all the damage.

    Montero SR build (Pajero)

A quick look at the front of the engine it is easy to see he cut the wires to the position sensors. He has hacked the wires in other areas as well. There is no way that vehicle will run and drive with the damage he did to it. Soon this vehicle will be scrapped, maybe someone else will get it and...

    Pajero Mk2 SWB MIVEC Build

Gee, I missed last week, it's getting deeper. The curl on the front of the Superboat's trailer is 14" of cement type snow that sagged into a curl. It originally stood straight up. The second image is a closer shot of the snow piled on the tounge jack. And the third is snow clinging to the tip of...

    Montero SR build (Pajero)

I doubt the pulley broke. I do expect a major lack of knowledge and comprehension of procedure and mechanical aspects caused the failure.

    Montero clutch problem

I would expect the clutch was very low quality such that it's friction material did not have enough grip. Driving down a road or highway the clutch should not ever slip.

Gen 2 rear diff for Gen 1

If I were doing this I would select an axle from a 3.0 powered rig keeping the smaller gearset, essentially replacing what you have while gaining the disk brakes as desired. I am on the wrong computer to check P/Ns If I recall the axle shaft/bearing assembly unbolts along with the caliper...

Right hand to left hand conversion

I will answer this in a way many here might not be able to comprehend. For me as and old Brit it does not matter. BUT I am married and my wife does not adapt well the the different perspective while driving. I own a number of RHD cars, Vintage British sports cars, Elva Couriers, A RHD MG and...

Right hand to left hand conversion

One note I will add with converting R to L or the other way. I do not know how many pay attention to the fact the radiator bulkhead, and all coolers and plumbing are different between R&L. Much of this has to do with the asymmetry of the steering box and how it mounts. This needs to be...

    Pajero Mk2 SWB MIVEC Build

Well here we are months later and nether my Pajero or my Superboat are enjoying the wait for the snow to go away, but they need to be patient sine we have another foot or more coming over the next few days. Hard to think I just cleard the snow off them three days ago and allot of the recent snow...

One note about Iran and the countries around there, I am very active in aviation and conduct youth training events. We work tightly with the ANG who provide demonstrations with HH60 and UH72 helicopters at my events. This summer will be tight for them to be active with us since all but a few of...
