    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

More progress today. I'm at the point that I've been dreading though- wiring and putting in the A/C. Yesterday I found a driveshaft out of a 99 F350 that was 80in long that had 1410 joints and was two piece. Just FYI all 1999-2004 Superduty fords used 1410 joints. Saved me a boat load of...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

Hahaha yeah, I guess time will tell. I tried to at least put the two in the rear opposing each other. Ill probably need one more when I get the muffler mounted, so maybe Ill do rubber there. I crawled under my other truck that has a brand ew exhaust, and it seemed even tighter than the stuff...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

I figured out that the short tube is actually the return! Well I spent most of the day running around crawling under trucks looking for a driveshaft to cut down since in person my quote for a new shaft doubled in price to $900. If I can find one to cut down, it'd be a lot cheaper. Just can't...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

I'm off all week, so hoping to get major progress done on the truck. Headed to the drive shaft guy first thing in the morning. So far this weekend, I've got the exhaust manifold mounted, turbo mounted, and we've started working on the exhaust, but UPS lost one of my pieces! (they said it was...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

Update: found a highly recommended driveline shop about 35 mins away, Wiles driveline in Paris, TN. They quoted me about $250 to shorten balance and upgrade to 1410s throughout, or about $450 for a whole new shaft. I told them I lifted the back about 5-6inches and they told me they wouldn't...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

That's a possibility, though the guy at High Angle said that's only a possibility if it's 66in or shorter and I'm thinking mine is longer. I really hope it works though, $1300 plus shipping will end up being more than I paid for the motor!

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

Well i just called Tom woods and he said he doesn't work on two piece shafts at all. High angle just quoted me around $1300, with upgrading to 1410s....ugh.

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

So now that the Dana 80 rear is in, the rear drive shaft needs to be shortened about 2 inches. Also, it uses a 1410 yoke which is much bigger than the Dana 60. I would like to do a DC joint, my question is where on the driveshaft should I put it? Also, do I need to have 1410s through out the...

More progress today. All of the drivetrain is in, and amazingly both drive shafts fit perfectly even with the nv4500. I fabled up a new top part of the cross member and it all looks great! Tomorrow were going to try and pull the bed and get the Dana 80 swapped under. Here are some pics: the...

M1010 expo build. The Mountain Turtle

I totally respect that. My dodge has been off the road since July and is nowhere near ready to drive. Simple always is good, and it's great you can be content with the 6.2, hard to yank a motor with that low of miles! Sometimes I just wish I didn't have my dodge and I'd just spent about a...

M1010 expo build. The Mountain Turtle

Well to each his own on the engine choice, I'm interested to see what the turbo does for you. Love the project. Those H4 headlights- do you have any experience with them? I've been looking for something to upgrade the headlights in my 89 Chevy as the stock ones are just absolutely pitiful.

2015 Colorado. Any plans for a review?

plus there are the Mercedes GLK and Audi Q5 diesels over here which get 30 and 32 mpg hwy in a full time AWD platform. I would imagine similar numbers should pop up from the colorado.

M1010 expo build. The Mountain Turtle

Man this is one awesome rig! I couldn't have dreamed one up any better. Gotta say though, that thing is the perfect candidate for a cummins! With those diesels, hp #s are even really relevant, it's all about the Torque! With your fab skills, you could plop a 6bt in there like it was nothing...
