    repair/restoration of 93 RR LWB

I love EAS, just realize that 20+ year old bladders must be replaced! EAS is a fantastic system, and although this version was the pioneer of today’s systems, it rides beautifully and can be reliably set up. After acquiring my LWB I replace the air bladders, o-rings, dessicant, filter and...

    repair/restoration of 93 RR LWB

In addition to tires you’ll need every other consumable like fluids, belts, hoses, filters, etc. It appears to still be on EAS (Electronic Air Suspention), so I HIGHLY recommend you maintain this system and do NOT convert to coil springs. Chances are the EAS system will work but may leak, which...

    The best adventure travel boots.

Bill - Zamberlan offer a 14 wide last only on the 996 Vioz. I’ve tried just about every other brand I could find, and this is the most comfortable boot I’ve ever owned. No other 14 even came close, and the first six mile hike was pure bliss! Tom

Looking for a Sleeping Pad? I spent a year testing 23 different models.

I had a 3/4" Thermarest self-inflating for 20+ years before a seam burst. It was nice in it's day, but too thin and I was happy to replace it. I replaced it with a REI 3.5 Campbed in 2009, that's been great (if not a bit too LARGE) and still in use. In 2013 I got an Exped Synmat 9LW. Exped are...

    Reliable Matches?

I have a small stash of Ohio Blue Tip's, and they are close to 20 years old! They last so long 'cause I never use them - just pack a few for emergency needs and stash them in emergency kits. For literally every fire need (campfires, backpacking stoves, or even propane burners) I only use one thing:

    Learn Me Range Rover Classic

Get lost, Your RRC looks great (i.e. totally stock) in that video. Great finished result! I also like when your buddy tried to ‘bust a move' on that ledge!

Please talk me out of my irrational desire for a Disco

LTS - all this thread I kept thinking - " D2, man he's crazy". But I think you've hit the right mindset. Amen brother! :smiley_drive:

Can't help but think "lumbering" when I watch it crawling on the rocks - looks out of place to me...that V8 sounds nice though.

Cot vs air mattress vs pad..

I've been using a insulated camping mat for over four years, ~45 nights/year, in 0-90deg.F ambient temps. It's a inflatable Exped model that's 3.5-inches thick and I've slept on everything from a boat deck (with protruding hatch covers) to ice. I've never had a better night's sleep outdoors...

    Wiper blades

I've used Silblade for close to 15 years. Since they are silicone they do not age as harshly as rubber, and they work REALLY well when used with a window treatment (I use Nanofilm). The traditional articulated holder seems to have a more durable blade and I get close to eight years out of a set...

Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

Mine is the (over?) complexity of modern diesels. I've always liked the European approach of smaller displacement Tdi. I've driven my VW 1.9L 250k miles since 2003, still my DD and I still love it. But in researching the newer diesel technologies I'm a little put-off. As Comanche Scott said, it...

2017 Discovery drive..Land Rover is getting back to its old self again!

When you configure the HSE with 7-passenger seating, you also pick-up the 2-speed t-case and electronic air suspension. EDIT! It gets better, you can add the Capability Plus Package, which includes Active Rear Locking Differential and Terrain Response 2, for a cool $1,250.

Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

I finally sat in a Canyon today. At 6'4" I was not at all impressed. I think the Honda Ridgeline has more room, especially in the rear seats. I'll have give it some serious thought, but the GM twins could be out of contention. At least I won't have to wonder about GM reliability...

Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

This is my biggest hurdle as well. Only American cars I've ever owned are now 45+ years old, so I'm completly out of touch. That said, it is a lot of cash to put down on an unknown when we drive our vehicles for 16-20 years. Can I expect to do that with a 2.8L Canyon?!

EPA mandated gas can horror stories:

I only use NATO jerry cans for fuel. Recently I picked-up a Wavian CARB spout 'cause I actually thought it might be nice to meter the flow (on/off) with the can inverted for filling power equipment. Today was the first use and it does work!
