Need ideas to carry motorcycle and bikes at speed. Off-road capable.

Never crossed NV and Idaho? I got passed by a dodge towing a goose neck stock trailer with 6 fully saddled horses in it. While doing 85mph with the semi’s. I paced the cowboy at 98mph for a few miles then went back to my boring 85mph.

PLEASE !!!! pick my new truck for our build

7.3 gas hands down. I know a couple of contractor company owners who have ditched their diesels for the 7.3 gasser. They literally love the thing so much they’re both eyeing more now that the truck market is crashing and prices are down. The savings in service costs alone has been a big eye...

    Second test drive...

Interesting observations. These cobbled together rigs will definitely had weird stuff. Likely sourced from unused stock picked up at auction. Several other brands are running BMW stuff also. BMW has capacity but not enough sales so likely pretty damn sweet deals on engines etc that other auto...

    EV acceptance is peaking

did my own enphase solar system setup. Skipped the batteries given cost and our use would be minimal. I did setup a basic manual transfer switch to power our secondary panel on the house which covers about 98% of the 120v stuff. The Predator 3500 has 40 hours on it since 2018. So little need the...

You can haul free power home to the house with the Lighting👍. Father inlaw built and maintained nuk plants. His last plant was in Detroit. Lots of cool stories for sure. When the Fukishama quake happened he called me said Japan was going to see the first modern nuk plant meltdown. He was on a...

MPG Numbers for 2024 Tacoma 2.4T No Hybrid

Toyota sources parts just like other brands. Parts makers cutting corners swapping in cheaper materials etc has been impacting parts quality and consistency for all the Auto makers. One batch of parts get made correctly with the designed materials and then the next batch gets some garbage...

    Truck vs SUV for towing

99% people hauling the Full sized Expedition has been superior to my Subaru in every way. Even comes close to beating the 2.5i outback on mileage. Towing the 4x6 trailer definitely beating the Outback. Better towing range than the XT with your trailer for sure. Better mileage definitely the xt...

An incident worth talking about. Kinetic Recovery Accident.

I realize that using braided high tech stretch line is still relatively new to the 4x4 world. Us sailors have been working with it for decades. Most applications on the boat we specifically seek out non stretch lines used in sail trim and halyards given stretch basically zaps power out of the...

Looking for recommendations on a family hauler/tow rig/occasional camp vehicle

Price point is very low sub 10k your only option is the GM Suburban/ Yukon twins. Of you had a budget that worked I’d say heavy tow 2019 or newer Expedition I run a 19. It’s been great definitely don’t even bother with anything less than full sized. Your kids grow fast, bikes get...

    EV acceptance is peaking

The right application/ use and setup definitely has a benefit but I’d bet less than .5% of the population can do the learning to figure it out. Transportation “cost” is something the average person barely considers if at all except that weekly reminder where they stop what they are doing and...

    EV acceptance is peaking

Interestingly the new and badly needed updated Tacoma lost 1/2 its range towing a 3000lb trailer. Thats kinda in the same ball park as the EVs in range loss. If you need a long range capable vehicle you buy a vehicle with that capability. You don’t buy a Tacoma or a EV😆

Nope didn’t realize there were people out there with little man bits. I just assumed everyone had large parts like me😆

Offroad capability of full size truck

Your description of your non pavement type use makes me think nearly stock sized tires would be fine. Why destroy highway performance and mileage with over kill tires? I get that jeeps need 37’s for starbucks and dirt roads to popular trail heads. But full sized trucks do more challenging stuff...

Offroad capability of full size truck

Gas mileage on a full sized might be better that a heavy / built jeep product. That might be a pleasant surprise.

    EV acceptance is peaking

Wouldn’t even be a topic if the news skipped it, like all the other vehicles that failed during that storm. There weren’t news trucks at my buddies work covering how a bunch of them had cars that were left at work because they failed to start. The only thing stupid is this thread.
