After 8 years in a full size, moving back to a mid-size - Recommendations?

I think all those trucks are nearly the same length as the F150. I ended up in a standard length heavy tow Expedition. Closest thing to the F150 but shorter. The current 4runner is nearly the same length as my Expedition. 9200lb max tow. The Expedition is definitely shorter than my buddies mid...

    2024 F150

Subscription stuff hasn’t been hashed out yet. For web based video storage that makes sense. Storage and cell network access costs money. However!! There have already been lawsuits based on the fact that a buyer already paid for heated seats in the purchase price of the vehicle given it was...

    fake patrol QX56 build

Yeah the ground clearance thing is interesting. We have a bunch of micro offices near by used by solo business folks. A buddy uses one of them and his neighbor is a crash analyst works for all the big insurance companies. Crazy fascinating person to talk to especially trucks and roof top tents...

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

The issue was his lease. Leasing isn’t buying its just a numbers game and in demand vehicles generally aren’t leasable. The vehicle leasing business plan was created to shed over stock while still maintaining a profit margin on the unit. Buying yes they legally have to honor the original...

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

Not to mention Toyota has joined the same game and has upped their msrp big amount for the same vehicle that was 10k less a couple of yrs ago. Toyota is just as bad as the dealer’s hiding inventory and tacking on “hard to find model” dealer add on fees. Hell the scam has gotten so stupid our...

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

You cannot buy any 4x4 Toyota for 40-45k. An AWD Highlander goes for 45-58k at “dealer” prices. MSRP means nothing regarding Toyota products. No one is paying remotely close to msrp.

The Highlander will grow into a larger non minivan - minivan 👍

Is the roof tent trend over?

I predict camping equipment glut and value crash (already started) will get worse next spring. If any of you are on regional Camping FB threads you’ll see the drama that 14million RV owners vs 2 million campsites is having. Thats not even including the car / tent camping people. And before you...

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

I bet Toyota strips out the 4runner removes tow hooks and rear opening hatch window. And the LC is the only mid size SUV they sell with tow hooks and rear window that opens😆. Then the next generation 4runner becomes awd crossover that looks like a mash up of the Camry and Sienna👍.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

Split gates were done for two reasons. First one is a boxed rigidity structure at the back of the vehicle. Full hatches are just floating doors and provide zero rigidity to the wagon body. Ever ride in an old wagon with a hatch chattering and squeaking before? The old grand Jeeps were terrible...

Thoughts on 2023 Ford Super Duty for Family Travel?

Pretty sure thats not due to campers. Wood burning is the primary source of heat in the hills of Virginia. It’s especially popular if its free.

That V8 has always been a big favorite of the Auto reviewer guys. Its a nice engine bit thirsty but sounds great, reliable and good power/grunt. I agree Nissan could easily go after the same buyers looking at the xt4 package GM stuff and the Timberline Expedition etc. My Expedition replaced a 07...

Such limited 4x4 van choices with decent gas mileage (in the US)

A loaded mini van in good tires can go anywhere a loaded OB can go because a loaded outback has about 4 inches of ground clearance 😆. And a cvt that packs it up when you need it the most.

Such limited 4x4 van choices with decent gas mileage (in the US)

Neighbor has a nice vanagon Subaru 2.2 and he’s going F150 4wheel camper. Tired of breaking down and having drama finding someone to help him sort it out. I’ve spent more time working on his van than my own boat and that’s saying alot 😆

Dual Rear Wheels and Mild Off-roading - Is it Really That Bad?

The difference between 3peak rated and just m-S rated is huge. Out west 3peak is generally the best “all season” option for those of us that occasionally do snow vs say Michigan people who drive on skating rinks 5 months out of the yr😆

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

3.73 gear set is used by Ford in several applications the F150, Heavy Tow Expedition, Ranger etc. Id guess the 3.73 is most likely

Such limited 4x4 van choices with decent gas mileage (in the US)

If you want van space and amazing mileage better than the Subaru? Get a Toyota Sienna. Yank the seats toss a bed and some shelves in it and you have the best combo. Want dirt road and snow capacity similar to the Subaru? Get the awd one and toss some quality 3peak tires on it you’ll still get...

Such limited 4x4 van choices with decent gas mileage (in the US)

As for grey market vehicles especially today with insurance companies getting super hyper picky due to huge losses in the last few yrs. You won’t find anyone who’s been wrecked out in a non US spec vehicle thats walked away with insurance covering their injuries and losses. A good friend was a...

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

The ranger would likely run the same running gear as the Bronco. Either the 4.47 if sold with 35 inch tire capability, or the standard go to 3.73 used in the current ranger. https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/product/2021/bronco/pdf/21_Bronco_TechSpecs.pdf
