Differences between 55 and 60/62 series?

What's a "split" tcase? Is that another name for a divorced tcase? So, no factory air available in the 55's? (There's a 1977 on Craigslist that has A/C, don't know if it's factory) I like the looks of the 55, so just trying to see if I could live with one:snorkel: Would like disc brakes...

Differences between 55 and 60/62 series?

Just curious...been reading here and there, and it seems that the 60/62 is considered to be Toyota's ultimate expedition-capable vehicle (or maybe the 80 series, but I want to focus on the 55-60's). So, my question is, why is the 55 series not-so-good in comparison? What are the driveline...

    2007 Dodge 3500 4 x 4 quad cab

A Four Wheel pop up camper! And a winch! Do you really need more power than stock? Save your money on the power upgrades. I looked into locker options...I think all that's available is an ARB for the rear and then get the factory Power Wagon e-locker for the front.

    Sighting in Tucson

I wonder if it's Jack Dykinga. Don't know where he lives, but somewhere on the NW side of town. Does the driver look like an older grizzled photographer?:sombrero: Scott

    Newbie questions....

Oh, gotcha. The four real doors are really nice. If you intended to stay with the Dodge/Cummins platform (and I certainly would), then that means you'd be looking for a 2003 and newer. Warning: Do not test drive one or you'd be hooked. I've had all years of the D/C and the "third generation"...

    Newbie questions....

Welcome to ExPo! Keep the diesel, the mileage will be much better. I'm wondering what you have there though...Dodge did not make a ClubCab diesel in 2001. (At least not for the US market.) I think the last ClubCabs were in '98.

Need Advice on Best setup for emergency use

    1) I don't know if you can buy Spot by the month, you'd have to contact them. Click on their logo at the bottom of the ExPo home page. Some company was offering rentals, so that may be an option for you. 2) There are no Ham radios that incorporate CB, it's against FCC rules, so you need a...

Need Advice on Best setup for emergency use

Hi Paul, and welcome to ExPo! Ruling out a satellite phone due to the high costs, your choice of emergency communications boils down to the Spot system or a Ham radio. Having both would be best. A CB radio probably is worthy of mention just because they are so inexpensive these days, why not...

    My nightmare with Callen Campers

Hi donnyh- Welcome to Expo! I love your truck, used to have one like it, have been kicking myself since selling it. IMHO, it is the best foundation for building an expedition truck in the price class: No electronics controlling the engine, which will go a million miles without an overhaul...

Passed exam, along with a 6-year old girl.

Woo hoo, I passed!!! There was a girl testing tonight as well that just turned 6 years old! It was actually her second attempt, she missed it by one the first time... when she was 5. So the pressure was really on for me to pass. If I failed, there was no way I was going to tell my wife that...

    Fiberglass Toppers/Caps

Flip-pacs seem like the way to go to me, if it's within your budget. You'd have the topper **and** a tent for plenty of room. I feel that being able to stand in the bed of the truck is a huge plus. Scott

How funny! The first thing that came to mind when I saw those steel wheels is "Land Rover!" But I didn't want to say that to a Jeep guy...:xxrotflma It's highly addictive...I'm waiting for the moment my boss comes to me and says, "We've done some research on your internet usage, and...."...
