Made up some brackets that hold the bike rack on the side of the bed so that the back doors stay free to open and close. Just thought I would share.

Made some bike rack brackets for the truck to keep it out of the way of the rear doors.

Air down spare tire to 20-30 psi, install stairs, tighten ratchet strap as much as possible, air tire back up to 40-50 psi? Should tighten up considerably I would think... You could also put some rubber strips between the ratchet and strap and maybe see if that would help. Thoughts only.... I...

Haven’t read the thread. But I had a 97 F250 for a few years with the 7.3 PS. My thoughts if you go that route: - later model truck OBS - do a D60 swap. Mine was sub $1000 - do electric fuel pumps - pull the bed, and make new fuel pickups. I’d consider that a minimums list. If I bought one...

Having owned a 100 series, I think you will be disappointed in the amount of interior room for something like this. Doing a high roof on something isn't a bad idea ( though a lot of work), I just think for what you are talking about, the 100 might be smallish.

I have thought about the same thing. The lock is a good idea, but other solutions would be welcome. My partial “solution” to this is my sliding rear window on the truck. I want to add a sliding window to the camper shell and seal the gap with a tire tube and just leave the truck window open...

The discobed is a very interesting idea. I didn't even think about "bunk bed" style setups. That could work but one would have to be big enough for the little tyke and the wife together. Or come up with his own little bed. But the impact dog crates are out of the question. $500 minimum x 2 and...
