New for 2022? GXV and EarthCruiser hints

Looks like the GXV website has gone missing in action again. I tried to access it several times this week to no avail. Perhaps the StoryTeller group is the only source for info on GXV now. Wonder if Michael and Rene are still involved in custom vehicles. Also wonder if the facility in...

    NPS fines AWD owners…

So, none of the new Sprinter or Transit Vans qualify no matter how jacked up or modified they are. There will likely be a lot of disappointed people with $200,000 vans out there.

    NPS fines AWD owners…

As long as you don't get stuck and have to be rescued you likely won't get fined. I saw a guy take a rental 911 Porsche down a clearly 4x4 road years ago. It sounded terrible each time the bottom of the car banged on the rocks. I have no idea whether he made it back out.

    EarthCruiser is closing!?!?!

There are also a lot of fiberglass boats made in northern Indiana and that skill set might come in handy for someone like EC. You could design a habitat and get one of them to build the molds and habitats while EC does the systems, etc. Somehow you need to get beyond the one off custom parts to...

    EarthCruiser is closing!?!?!

You could always move the company to Elkhart IN. It's a low income area and with the slowing RV market there are likely many qualified RV techs looking for jobs.

    StoryTeller Discount on 2023 stock

The vans must not be flying off the lots. They extended the discount for another 2 months until Sept. 25. I almost bought one in April and I see that it's still sitting on the dealer's lot.

    Acela 4x4 Moab Project

It looks like they have updated the website and I also saw a listing on RV Trader for a dealer in Ohio https://www.themoabproject.com/ https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2024-Moab-Trailblazer-5031868677

    Earthroamer sell off?

And, most of the people who could afford to buy a $750,000+ RV can probably afford to hold it for awhile. Now, the van lifers that are paying $1,500 per month for 20 years may be in a different situation.

    StoryTeller Discount on 2023 stock

Market must still be a bit slow for $200,000 plus vehicles. 27North joins the discount club.

    StoryTeller Discount on 2023 stock

And now we have a discount on 2024 models. Seems like we have seen the peak of expensive vans and maybe other rigs also. $15,000 rebate on all models...

Bliss Mobil 8ft lifting roof debut at Abenteuer Allrad

I am thinking a 10' box would be a better choice. But then, I remember that EC had the EXD that was a 10' popup box on the F350 and it was replaced by the TN with the cabover bed and then they went out of business. Guess I am going down a rabbit hole.........

    Scout pop-up

Kind of reminded me of the SuperTramp and not nearly as expensive as that.

Their website implies a couple more models coming. https://scoutcampers.com/pop-up/yoho/

    EarthCruiser is closing!?!?!

I don't know for sure about the under storage for the spare, but EC told me they couldn't put the spare under the TN chassis. Rossmonster does on some of their rigs. Also, I have heard that if you get Liquid Spring suspension it uses the under rig spare space for pumps, etc.

    EarthCruiser is closing!?!?!

Could be wrong, but I think they use the pickup because they have the option of keeping up to a 35" tire under the rig. Also, when I talked to them they indicated that most rigs weigh about 11,000 pounds. The 1" aluminum tubing frame should be pretty light and I think the outer fiberglass body...

Our Global Expedition Vehicles Adventure Truck

If you could keep the rear weight down is the key. Seems like everyone is building something that is at least 15,000 pounds right now though. I think there are some options for single rear wheels finally, and being able to run tires you can get at Discount Tire would sure be nice. Evidently...

Our Global Expedition Vehicles Adventure Truck

Still think someone could make that and sell it for around $300,000. If it was carbon fiber, you could even put it on a 350.

This is their website I think. https://www.rec-spec.com/

Wet clay mud is not much fun in any vehicle. Worse than snow I think.
