    Scrap yard M100 Build

After over a year of use I am very happy with the Rustoleum spray on truck bed paint (rattle can my favorite). I used it on the lid and the interior. I use action packers inside and am constantly sliding them in and out the tailgate. The grit on the boxes only scratched through on the outer...

it might also be an axle wrap issue since it is under torque when accelerating and then smooths out. I would apply the brakes in gear and have someone watch to see if the rear pinion is rotation upwards (like you are attempting to power brake.) a couple of degrees of axle wrap will cause that...

    TeraFlex Install: NEBO Roof Rack

I have to buy a JKU and get this. Seriously though I like to fabricate a lot of my jeep stuff but you cannot compete with this kind of stuff. I'm impressed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Import RTT From China? Ever try it? Pitfalls concerns?

For some people a $30 dome tent works well for them under specific circumstances on that mile hike into a camping area under the most idealistic camping conditions and that is fine. If you expect to travel/pack all over the country in all seasons and spend hundreds of nights in that kind of...

Where are people finding the Military Trailers your building?

I keep a keen eye out in my travels. Sometimes people approach me when they see my trailer and tell me where they have seen one. They are usually rotting away in sticker bushes and the owners think iron oxide is really gold forming on them! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

match the vehicle or trailer tire?

There are a lot of schools of thought on these subjects for sure. The Scrap Yard M100 started out pretty rough, that might be an understatement. The first time I towed it it had 14" and 16" wheels. I really liked the look of rounded fenders and stock wheels. I had a set of 10 ply Goodyear...

    Question about RTT Flysheet Rods

Interesting thought, my trip to the desert was to watch the King of The Hammers races. In Hammertown, Tepui had a booth with several tents set up. I noticed they had installed stainless eye hooks along the the underside on the ladder side and tied them off back to the vehicle/trailer. Better...

    Question about RTT Flysheet Rods

In the wind and extremely cold weather I would and do use the elastic tensioner cord inside and I only open the rain fly on the down wind side, it is an egress thing. I just camped in The desert and experienced some pretty hairy cold high winds. It sounded like a hundred people outside my tent...

    Tepui Tent RTT

I use a good quality backpackers/ground camper air mat over my stock mattress. There are many brands out there that will work and even a few brands that are much better than what I use. They are thin, I add air to get a just right comfort under my bedding. My RTT doesn't have a condensation...

    Lucinda Build

This build brings back fond memories for me since my first car was a 1964 90 version. I had my CR250 and BMX in the back along with my tools with a couple of bean bag chairs. Went everywhere riding and racing hanging out in that van. Thanks for posting this build. Truly is the only one I...

my first m100 expo/camp trailer build

First it is exactly like what I started with and mine still has the data plates. The M100 has the 4 tie down points corner handles similar to the M416 but that is where the similarities end. The M416 doesn't have the rounded fenders, has different axle and hubs. Yours probably has reverse...

    FJ-60 gun rack

Having used an assortment of mount systems in my profession the only thing that I can add is that a roof mount gun rack is prone to rattling and driving you nuts. I use a vertical locking mount and have for more than 10 years now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

my first m100 expo/camp trailer build

That is a M100 probably 50's era and and the condition is really good for its age. I can see the paint on the front of the tub where the data plates are or were (can't tell from the pictures). I wish mine was in that condition when I started. Good start. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The Jeepenwagen 2015 JKU Wrangler adventure mobile

That axle is clearly a manufacturing defect and they knew it. I have seen a lot of breakage like that but in 40 year old axles and a few Dana 35 rear axles in the YJ era. In an abusive break an axle with proper metallurgy will shatter and break into pieces. Obviously that one didn't meet the...

New guy with a new to me M416

Do you need to replace the bearings? Inspect them and and repack the grease if necessary. Do the hubs feel warm when you have been towing? I always touch the hubs when stopped getting fuel. If they are warm then you need to repack them or worst case replace them.

    Scrap yard M100 Build

I got back yesterday from a week at Hammer Town, Johnson Valley, CA attending the King of the Hammers races. This was my first time in the desert with my trailer. I didn't tow it behind my CJ5 like I did in September to the Sierra Nevada's. That was a whole different kind of adventure for...

    **Tepui RTTs and Accessories**

Adam Sorry you missed King of the Hammers I would have enjoyed seeing your setup there. Tepui was well represented and had a good variety of product displayed. The quality speaks for itself in person especially when there was another brand on display close by.

    sunnybean's M416 build

I like a tail gate but they come with a long list of structural issues to work out. I would recommend using your trailer for a while and if you feel like you really need one go for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
