    new Chevy Colorado

I wonder if GM has the stones to do a reasonable priced crate motor Duramax 4 cylinder? Stronger and better mileage than my factory TBI. Wouldn't that be wicked?

Ball joint advice - 95 Tahoe

If the ball joints are worn, the so are all the steering parts. Tie rods, pitman arm, and idler arm. Plan for those also. I knew mine were all worn when I got it. Did the whole ball joint thing, removing the stock rivets was a pain, now the uppers are easy. :-) The lowers still drive me crazy...

    Need Header advice '90 Burb.

New tech is amazing, just get a new high flow cat. I'd go with a 3 inch. The three biggest things you need for a great exhaust on that rig.................... 1) quality mandrel bent y pipe 2) good flowing cat 3) mandrel bent tail pipe obviously get the muffler of your choice, I'd do something...

Do I need a leveling kit to run 285/75/R16s? Hard to find a good kit. Your thoughts?

Mmmmmmm, the truck I wanted. Went another direction, but I've always loved the crew cab oldie. BEST solution is a straight axle conversion. Period. Go coil spring or coilover, with links. You will be very happy. Use an axle from a newer dodge, the chevy hubs bolt right on keeping everything...

    99 Suburban Slow Build

I'm super slow building a 88 Suburban. I just picked up a set of 17" for it. Mainly because a bunch of heavy duty trucks run the 265/70R17 tires. It gives a tire height of 31 to 32 inches when installed. Perfect for my 3.73 gears. I can find take off tires fairly cheap, and new ones are easy to...

    99 Suburban Slow Build

I'd go with a utility type trailer and make a rack that holds the tent at a height that matches the top of your roof to improve air flow. Kinda like this Having something above the roof on a suburban really kills your mileage, makes lots of noise, and can make it seem really top heavy.

    99 Suburban Slow Build

Headlights just need polished. The best solution is buying the actual GLASS headlight housings but they aren't cheap. Best/easiest is polishing what you have. My mod allowed the low beams and high beams to be on at the same time. VERY bright output, but only when there is no traffic. Fuel...

Those new ones do look sexy. Of the three winch mounts I've done so far, everytime I've started with the HarborFreight winch plate. Cheap and easy.

2003 Silverado Z71 solid axle build

Mmmmmmm, after some research if they are 8 inchers I can run 255/75R17 and get where I want to be (or close enough). Which I might even find some take-off Jeep tires that will work. Should play nice with my 3.73 axles and the 700r4 without too much issues.

2003 Silverado Z71 solid axle build

"We" are in the Killeen/Ft Hood area. I can't tell you how many times I've driven past his little drool magnet. Might even meet him in person some time. I do like his work. Hell, if he wants he can come see me Friday at GunsGalore. Good lord, if those are 7" wide your gonna have to shoot me a...

2003 Silverado Z71 solid axle build

I drive by the "shop" in cove and see your truck all the time. Absolutely love it. I've had serious thoughts of doing my GMT400 99 Tahoe this way for awhile. You did a great job. I ended up deciding to build a 88 Burb instead, so the Tahoe will remain a DD until its ready. What are you going...

    French Wine Can for Gasoline?

I used the full 20l ones for fuel, but I'm thinking of getting one to use for my premix weed eater/chainsaw fuel. The 20l are perfect, I actually went OCD on mine. I had them sprayed with bed liner and then I hit them with some tan.
