iHike GPS iPhone App: A Review

Tutorial: How to import a route you create from Google Earth to iHike I use google earth for route finding before I leave on a trip. It allows me to prepare for hazards and create a gpx file for iHike. I prefer the "breadcrumb" route over strait lines and waypoints for its accuracy. When...

iHike GPS iPhone App: A Review

I'll get on that tutorial, it might be a bit with the holidays and all, but I wont forget. I agree with the screen size Cam-shaft. I've often thought the iPad mini would be a perfect size.

Cooper, do you like the Cosmo 2P Pillowtop and pads? I'm thinking of grabbing some for my RTT to replace the mattress.

What Is The Best Topo Map App For iPad

I posted in this thread a couple of years ago when I first started using the iHike App. Here's a review I posted a while back with a few updates over that time: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/75701-iHike-GPS-iPhone-App-A-Review Its been a great option for navigating with...

iHike GPS iPhone App: A Review

I've been using this exclusively for almost two years now without any major issues. The current version (4.1) will now mosaic all of your maps together so you can have one giant map stitched together. One problem with this change is that you can't zoom out as far as before with the last...

Sleeping platform: How to get started?

You could cut long ovals with a jig saw in the bottom and sides of the carcass to reduce the weight. Since its in the passenger compartment you don't have to worry about dust. Two separate boxes that slide in side by side (or front and rear) would make it easier to install and remove. I've...

    My Tacoma Flip-Pac build

I installed the OME since the last time I saw you at the refresher and love the Dakar springs it came with. It rides nice even when loaded and trailer hitched. If you decide to go that route, I'd be happy to give you a hand.

Great trip Mikey! Looks like you took the necessary medicine to shake the work blues. What an awesome experience seeing bison in the wild!

Ground up DIY Build by OVX 2012

Well, over a year later and here's an update. 1. I lifted the truck 2.5" using an Old Man Emu kit which included badly needed new leaf springs, new shocks, and new front coil overs. After the lift I developed a vibration coming from the transfer case. Turns out its pretty common and comes...

Gitout Expedition Build - 2013 Toyota Tacoma DC TRD

I don't want to turn your build thread into a "vibe" thread, but one more question. Did you put the shims in with the fat part forward to bring it up?

Gitout Expedition Build - 2013 Toyota Tacoma DC TRD

Good info, thank you! I found that same angle guage but not for that price, great find. I purchased steel shims from an online source I found through a tacoma forum. The OME kit I purchased from Sierra Expeditions came with the bearing shim kit although it didn't help much. Hopefully the...

Gitout Expedition Build - 2013 Toyota Tacoma DC TRD

I was just going to ask you about this. Mine is shuttering (and I have the diff needle bearing "rumble" too) so I'm messing with it now and hoping less expensive options like shims and bearing drops will work. Where did you get the shaft made and for how much?

    need opinions on suspension

I just installed a full OME lift with 885's and Dakar rear springs on my 07 DC taco a week ago, it handles great. Firm but not so stiff that you feel every pebble on the road. Its the suspension this truck should've had from the factory.

Yakima Tracks on SnugTop Questions - '12 Tacoma DCSB

Nice. i just measured mine, 48" long with holes 6" on center. I remember needing a buddy to hold the screw driver outside while I tightened nuts inside but you wont have to worry about that it sounds like.

Yakima Tracks on SnugTop Questions - '12 Tacoma DCSB

I installed Yakima tracks on the Snugtop Cab Hi shell for my DC 07 Tacoma three years ago and had an Eezi Awn 1600 up there off and on until I built a trailer last year. I installed mine through the honeycomb without crushing it or any leaking. I've heard concerns about water collecting in...

    AZ DPS Air Rescue Paramedic

I'm a firefighter in the Flag area and work the DPS air unit on occasion. My understanding is their medics do time on the road regardless of prior experience for a couple of years, even for high speed military SOF types. Their unit is suffering from budget cuts like most state agencies but the...

GR, strong work man, they turned out awesome. Thanks again for your tips and I'm going to use you trailing arm setup on my next build. Your design makes it easy for the DIY'er to align the two spindles.
