I ordered one wheel from Hey so I can play around with fitment. The 18x9 bolt together wheel is only $175 without a center in it. I've already drawn my centers in cad and will have one laser cut soon. Looking at 37" tires there was a good variety of tires available in 37x12.50-18 that are E load...
The box is finally mounted on the subframe for good now. The box attaches to the subframe via some captured bolts that are attached inside the box and will be buried in the walls and floor. I also sprung those in case the subframe ever flexes. Doubtful though.
I’ve recentered a set of humvee wheels already. It’s not too bad. I did my best to clamp the pieces together and tack weld everything while checking for run out with a dial indicator. It takes some time but turned out well. I don’t have a drawing of the Hey wheels yet but I’ll ask them for it...
I've been following this thread and I think I'm settling on the Toyo ATIII 37x12.50-18 I am going to build my own wheels again and I think I'll buy two piece wheels from Hey Wheel and recenter them.

Finally finished the box coatings. Hopefully mounting it to the truck soon then we’ll build out the interior. I used monstaliner for most of it and gaco for the roof. I’m very happy with both products.
Hole saw to cut the rubber around the inner sleeve then sawzall the shell of the bushing lengthwise until it loosens up. The shell will tap right out. Also some precision air chisel work would get it out too.
Start it out of gear to let it warm up. Then restart in gear and get rolling down the road. When you find a safe place, step on the clutch and rapidly step on and off the throttle. It’ll usually pop the clutch free pretty quickly.
Every clutch and flywheel out there, for the most part, has bare iron and or steel components by design. The best clutch is the world might still get rusty and stick. It's more about where you park it in my experience.
How bad are they sticking after only a few weeks? Aren't you able to just drive it with the clutch depressed until it breaks free again? That's what I've always done.
Depends on the type of spring. As long as they’re supported properly by the seat then cutting them is fine. For example… If it’s a flat ground spring then you’ll want a spring seat to receive the cut coil.
discussions like this never go anywhere because there is almost never a direct comparison. Show me the same vehicles, same weights, diesel vs gas. Diesels do just fine in sand of all types and so do gassers. Gearing, preference, etc
