WD hitch can be amazing on the road. I can't think of anything much worse than using one off road. If you need one to properly balance your vehicle and trailer than you need to upgrade the tow rig, get a lighter trailer, or stay on road. I don't know why this is difficult to comprehend.
On the fence if titanium should go in the engine of an overland vehicle or if it should be designed to construct a pulpal, traction mats, or rotoplax style fuel tanks. So many applications for titanium and so few people filling the void.
That analogy is apples to oranges. Spacers can also be used to put the contact patch and scrub in the stock location when using non stock wheels.. Contact parch and scrub are often changed when using non stock wheels and larger tires, changes often made for clearance and.or stability .
At the end of last summer I experimented with a stainless garden sprayer. I was able to remove the long wand and put the spray nozzle right on the valve. I extended the hose to about 12ft long. I strung a line between 2 trees and looped the hose over it. I heated the tank with the lid open...
I would find someone to take a closer look at your engine and do your own research as there is a wealth of info on these engines on the net. If it is dead I would look for a used replacement from a reputable company.
I climbed under a Pathfinder conversion about 15 years ago and was horrified at what I saw. It looked like it was engineered and fabricated by someone who had never done anything like that before and without a clue .
Do you have issues with lug nuts coming loose on wheels that do not have spacers?
There seem to be 2 groups, one that have used them without any issues, and another group that has never used them, never will, and will bad mouth them all day long. Throughout the years I have seen some...
So your engine has cylinder deactivation that then pumps air through the engine to help cool it when the engine is being worked hard? That seems to be the opposite of they way I understand cylinderactivation to work. glad I found this out
This seems like asking for directions if you know where you are and how to get where you are going . I dare say that a pretty much any 220v stick welder would be more than capable of performing the weld as described with the proper electrodes. If you dont think so than why not? There is...
Do I understand this correctly, you are an experienced welder/fabricator and you are asking a bunch of people who aren't if it is acceptable to fabricate something?
You already have a heavier duty suspension installed than you could buy. Tune your current leaf pack to your load, better yet keep a few leafs and add airbags. Strongest most durable suspension ever.
Id like to see a graph of the torque and HP curves of those two engines and their BSFC. I am not familiar with the technology in the ford 3.5 so I am assuming it has VVT?
So if you run away from your home do you expect anything to be left of it when you return? Do you plan to just wander the world foraging for food the rest of your life or what? What kind of life do you expect your kids will have going forward years after you bug out? Everyone thinks the...
OP if you calculated the weight distribution than how much weight are you figuring on the axle, and on the tongue? I would probably look to boxing the existing frame or building a new one if I went to a torsion.
The photos show 2 doors in front of the axle and one door behind so assuming that the doors are all about the same width thich is how it appears to me I would think it would probably balance out pretty well without a great deal of concern about how it is loaded. When I look at all the added...
If you are bolting it up to the current springs I would disassemble the spring pack and shackles and clean everything up, Replace the bushings and paint the springs with graphite paint. Id probably replace the shocks. After its all up and running I would consider removing a few leafs and...
I grew up with one of those and probably put over 10k rounds through it. 10 pumps is the max recommended I think it will blow off additional pressure if you go over. I used the standard daisy pellets with mine but shot 95 percent BB's.
I am somewhat skeptical of its off road abilities even with 53 inch tires but it will probably be a wild ride. I think you will waste lots of space unless you get rid of everything fire truck from the cab back
