Thoughts on making a 2wd van more capable

I'd have to agree with what's already been said, get a compressor so that you can air your tires down. This is great for adding traction. I've been using the Viar 450P and it airs me up pretty quickly. I also splurged and bought the ARB deflator and love it. It helps at airing down the tires...

    mouse007's build (2014 DCSB 4x4 Taco)

That's good to know about Pelfreybuilt. I got that feeling from them, I fired off a few emails and they were very responsive. I don't know if I'll get/need the high clearance bumper, I may go with the normal bumper. I Which tires and wheels are you selling? Not the steelies, right? I'm pretty...

    mouse007's build (2014 DCSB 4x4 Taco)

Mouse007; man your truck looks awesome! I just bought a 2016 in MGM. I'm definitely going to get a set of steelies. I like the skinny tires too. Do you think that those would fit a stock height truck? I don't know if I'm going to lift mine yet. If I do it, won't be until I get my bumpers, skids...

The dieimma of purchasing a new Toyota

You're right about the Tacoma's hood, it is out there for sure. I wish that I had a camera in the grill. I think I saw a video somewhere that showed a new Land Cruiser with a camera in front, must be nice. The smaller size of this truck is what I think that I like the most. My full size was...

The dieimma of purchasing a new Toyota

What's the saying about chukar? "The first time you hunt them, it's for fun, every time after that is for revenge". That about sums it up.

The dieimma of purchasing a new Toyota

Hey Mark, sounds like you and I have the same passions, bird hunting and fly fishing. I just bought a 2016 Tacoma. It's a 4x4, double cab, TRD off road edition. What you described in how you'll use it is exactly the way that I use mine. I don't do trails just to do trails, I use it to hunt and...

SSF556 Build Up - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD

I've had mine on my Silverado for 20,000 miles and love them. Good ride, and just aggressive enough. I did have a side wall puncture, but I drive through really rough terrain in the desert out here. America's Tire took good care of me. I'll most likely replace the BFG AT's on my FJ with them.

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

I've beat them up pretty good in the dessert, popped one, had something puncture the sidewall, but that's to be expected from time to time in the rough stuff that I run it through. The traction seems adequate for what I do in my truck, dessert and mountain terrain. I don't baby it, I've got the...

I've had the ST Maxx on my Silverado for 40,000 miles and they aren't loud at all. The only time that I notice a slight hum is when I turn the radio off on the freeway. Even then it's not bad, I could run on the road all day long like that and it isn't loud enough to be annoying. I'll be...

Is that an ARB front bumper? I like the side protection too. How does it tie into the sliders, are they all one piece?

    GAS VS DIESEL

I had the same dilemma 12 years ago when I bought my truck, an '02 Chevy 2500HD duramax 4x4 cc/sb. This truck has been awesome, very few repairs. It's sitting at 200,000 right now, and still running strong. It get's ~16MPG combined C/H. It's been an awesome off roader too, all stock. When I pay...

    Guasti offroad trailers?

Anyone have an update on these trailers? I stopped by a few months ago to take a look first hand and they looked good. Before I drop some dough I'd like to here how they hold up off road. Anyone with some real world experience with these?

    Jack's 2007 Chevy Build

I have an '02 and it will occasionally down shift harder than normal for what seems to be no reason. I don't think mine does it at those speeds though, generally when I'm getting ready to stop. Mine will also really slam hard into 1st when I'm wheeling in 4-lo and I brake going down hill. It's...

    Random RIG Shots

That section looks like it would be scary on a Mtn. Bike, much less a full sized rig.

Cooper ST/Maxx or tried and true BFG All Terrains

Like em I've had mine for over 6 months and a little over 6000 miles. So far so good. Their road manners are great. I've had them off-road in all kinds of terrain and they've done good. I got stuck in the mud out on Crowley lake, but I don't think any tire would have gotten me out of that crap...

    Jet Tent by Oztent

Springbar fan I have a Springbar Vagabond 7. I've been using it for a few years now with no complaints. It's been sturdy in all types of weather. It truly is a one man set-up. What I just started doing on this last camping trip was to use 12" X 1/2" lag bolts with fender washers over the...
