Solar worth it if you are a tech junkie.
Hot water heater totally worth it...its my favorite accessory. Gives you an extra 6 gallons over normal water tank...doesn't use that much propane if you manage it right. I heat water in the morning then turn off and it will stay hot enough even in cold...
Really depends upon your use case.
I have traveled over 70k miles with my FWC. Purchase choice was it's off-road capabilities and lightweight (I have the Eagle which at the time was the lightest popup). I think it has excelled in this because I have had little issues with it or with my truck...
2010 Toyota Tacoma Sport SR5 $14,000. (Local Sale Only, I will not ship)
I can sell in either Big Bear California OR Los Angles California or in between the 2.
Basics:
169,000miles (This will go up as I still drive it daily)
For CA people JUST Passed Smog No Issues.
Color Green
4x4, 6 SPEED...
I use this hand winch and traction boards for the last 9 years. Before that I had a full bumper and electric winch that I only used once.
It really depends on how extreme you wish to go but in 9 years traction boards have been more than enough for me with the hand winch only ever used to move...
I have icons all around on my second gen. No complaints they are great. Someone already mentioned they are NOT progressive. They are great for fast off road fun.
I have had no failure or issues I like the ride on and off road.
I have a Kendon folding 2 to 3 motorcycle trailer...like I mentioned great towing on road...but off road it's too low. However it's strong and has taken the beating I give it. So good trailer
I'm late to the conversation but my 2c. I gave up on a "Carrier" and went trailer.
Carriers ended up being too heavy just by then selves.
It needs to be a small motorcycle my Honda was coming right in at about 600lbs too...+ Carrier some suspension modification was going to be needed.
If you...
Your chubby hole/shelf. Is that a custom insert or did you purchase somewhere? Would you post the purchase link if you bought it? I like that ALOT! My bear spray is always just rolling around...LOL!
I made a similar toilet riser but I didn't think to keep it hollow for storage! LOL Guess what...
Add a Detroit Tru-Trac to that....you'll be amazed at the traction difference. (That's what I did with my Sport and it works great with the electronic limited slip...)
I actually miss my 1st GEN, will keep my 2nd GEN after test driving multiple different mid-size PUs. Things are just going overboard with the electronics on a vehicle that is meant to be abused and work-horse...
My 2c. Sport 4x4 package with Manual transmission then make the "Needed" off-road options after the fact and the actual ones you want/will use on that platform.
Manual TM is so much better. only on Sport or Pro....
I probably should use in the back seat too, but I have a dog platform and allow her to walk around when there is someone in the front seat. Also, remember to turn off your air bag if using the front seat. That's if your dog is heavy enough to indicate a person is sitting there....
"They" actually do make harnesses in all different sizes that connect to seat belts, this is just one example:

I did Alaska with my dog. It was a blast.
One tip I have is stop often and let them sniff and take their time at the stops. Set a routine for the stops. Dogs love routine.
Let your dog be part of the routine of setting up and down.
Of course the obvious always leashed. I used a 30ft so she would...
To be flush (same width), with the truck, look for a Used FWC Eagle. FWC doesn't make the eagle anymore but probably could find a used one in the price range you are looking for?
And that's the reason for my post. I have had very successful results with 4.30s. For an all around daily driver and off road capability in the 4.0/2nd Gen/33s (17s)/MT
