Unless I was pulling a 7000 pound trailer (which I'm not), or was at load capacity for my truck (which most pop-ups aren't) I find that using "Manual" is far more effective than using "Tow/Haul".
I find "Tow/Haul" allows RPM to run higher than I like, whereas with "Manual" I can control speed...
Thanks for the link.
That suit has nothing at all to do with coolers though, it's about Medowcraft apparently copying Yeti designs for mugs, tumblers, and drink holders.
Medowcraft seems to have gone in their own direction with cooler design.
Teflon is terribly overrated for camping and roughing it, and can be totally unhealthy on multiple levels as noted above ... especially when removed from the fairly standard operating procedures of the typical home kitchen.
Boiling water will remove stuck food from anything as long as you pour...
I was asking more as the question relates to vehicle dependent overlanding.
Interesting aside though now that rafting has been brought up, some of the higher end outfitters servicing the Colorado will take your cooler over a week prior to the start of your trip, and will actually freeze three...
Ice box coolers that can hold ice for a week+, AND can hold enough food for two or three people for a week+ can get up around $500.00 (Yeti 110).
Add to that the constant need for $5.00+ bags of ice, and suddenly an ice box cooler may not be the inexpensive alternate to a 12V fridge that it...
Does anybody actually need, or use an ice box cooler and depend on it holding ice for 14 days?
For even 7 days for that matter?
It would seem to me, based on reading O.J. and this forum, that most folks who undertake overland travel beyond 3 or 4 days use an Engel or ARB 12V fridge.
I use a...
No, it's nothing of the sort like that.
Maggiolina sell their own product to the public under their own name, the company doing the manufacturing for Cave Campers doesn't sell to the public, talk to the public, or have anything to do with the public.
They manufacture camper shells wholesale...
I thought his explanation was pretty clear.
Cave Campers don't seem to be claiming to physically manufacture anything.
They contract the physical labour out to suppliers.
I doubt Tim Cook has ever completely assembled an iPhone, but ...
I suspect that the handles are designed such as to not reduce the wall thickness of the ends of the cooler, unlike most other brands that utilize some derivative of scooping out the ends to minimize the handles profile.
Scooping out the sides reduces thickness, thus insulation.
But it takes...
It's hard to tell in a photograph ... but the walls (and presumably the lid) of the Otter Box seem somewhat thicker than those seen on the premium competition.
I agree that Otter Box tends to dominate whatever field of design they enter ... so it will be interesting to get some real-world...
15,000 BTU air conditioner in a Jungle Safari Tent is the minimum acceptable cooling system.
BTW ... what do you propose to use to power this air conditioner you're going to put into all your Jungle Tents now that we've identified AC as a "must" in a "Jungle Tent"?
That's an incredibly good looking Habitat as displayed on a full size pick-up!
Do you have any more pictures of Habitat's on full sized pick-ups that you could post for our viewing pleasure?
Folks only seem insecure when they ramble on about this stuff.
If you want a YETI, get a YETI.
If you want a RTIC, get a RITC.
Nobody really cares what choice a guy makes....nobody.
Exactly!
I mean real "camp coffee" (grounds simply tossed into kettle over fire) has at least 1/8" of grounds in every cup!
If you're drinking real camp coffee, that last sip is always followed by a scrunched up face, and a quick spit into the forest at the edge of the campsite!
Thanks for the additional details Martyn.
It's always easier to "wish" for something than it is to actually be the guy who is being asked to deliver it :)
I've contacted you indeed.
I want to replace my roof-top tent with something more substantial.
It's depressing to read that you folks consider 9% to be so low as to consider it a non-starter (I can read between your lines).
That's "OK" though, as I noted in my post ... there are other 8'...
8' box F-150 version of the Habitat please ... if one was available today, I suspect the line-up to purchase would be long (I'd be in it).
There is a shortage of half ton 8' box overlanding packages right now, but I see many concepts coming down the pike currently, and suspect that whoever gets...
