Yeah I saw that after the fact which is pretty impressive IMO open diff. Should be really good with some proper high profile tires and the locking rear diff.
There’s a company in the UK that makes front and rear LSD’s for the RRS that will more than likely work in the Defender. That in combination with traction control should be adequate for most things. Maybe if there’s enough demand ARB will come up with some air lockers for it.
Simply put the P300 has shorter gears to help make up for the 100hp disadvantage. It makes the engine not have to work as hard to move the vehicle you do loose a little fuel economy and some top speed though. It might also give it a better crawl ratio but I’d have to check on that.
A B58 in a Defender style vehicle would be neat. I just hope this vehicle isn’t super ugly. Some of the spy shots I saw of the actual body look like a uglier 463 g wagon.
The diesels in other countries get the 18” wheels. LRNA won’t import the diesels. So there’s at least two engine options in the UK that fit 18’s. You can only get the P400 on the X.

Too small for what? Towing? If your towing you would want the bigger brakes anyway. It makes the same power as a V8 LR3 it weighs 1000lbs less and has two more gears and from the one review I’ve seen on it it sounds like a very smooth plenty powerful enough engine. If the V6 in my LR3 is enough...
A lot of guys in Australia and South Africa do. I’ve considered doing it on my Discovery I’m leaning towards doing it especially whenever I finally get to do the Pan Am trip.
