i have been reading a lot about them, but don't have a place to test drive so i have lots of n00b questions. any insight would be appreciated.
what happens when the battery dies? does pedaling require more force due to the drag of the motor or do you essentially free wheel?
are some...
cool thread. brings back memories. i had a 1983 montero, 2-door, stick, mud tires. years later i had a 1995 montero SR which was basically a land cruiser wannabe. both were awesome vehicles.
may sound like a stupid question, but I see repeated recommendations to inspect your jerry cans, presumably for rust or corrosion or something but no instructions.
My camper has four total, with two used for water and two for diesel. None of them are leaking. So what's the procedure...
so i just finished 10 days in Nantahala NOC and Tsali taking a wilderness first responder cert class. Few more updates:
It rained a lot every day (river was way up which made the river rescue scenarios fun) but no more leaks so I think I've got that sorted.
With the rain and parked in shade...
James and crew continue the excellent support...
Yesterday I managed to rip the jack wheel thing off the tongue of the trailer while going through a creek. Basically destroyed the bracket, but the wheel and jack mechanism was fine. They had an extra bracket in stock and shipped it to me...
last weekend i pulled into a walmart parking lot in western NC around midnight, with my truck and trailer. It was like fast and furious. every teenager in town had apparently removed their muffler and suspension to pawn them for money to buy neon lights. they were like roaches huddling in...
it's a normal double bed (or close enough to it that the sheets fit)
find one in a mattress store and try it. my guess is a couple would be ok if they like to cuddle in the winter. two big guys in august? no.
I ordered the two-bed model last year, just after the overland expo east, and then picked it up in Pittsburgh on Feb 24. I don't want to act like I know everything about them. I've ony had it 2 months and taken it on two short weekend trips, the first of which was to Gatlinburg and Cades Cove...
I think I bought the first one. took delivery 2 months ago so not much time with it yet, though I've taken it for a spin in the smokeys and spent a few nights in it. probably going to pisgah this weekend. will post pics in a few days
pretty sure that's stock paint. i think they call it prairie or something. however, it does not appear to be an XL model as stated in the title of thread
(also, not sure what they did in '15, but in '16/17 if you wanted grill to be body color instead of black or chrome, then you got the...
ok, follow up questions for those of you who have used the bottle jacks....
1. instructions say (literally) that you need to oil them once or twice a month. seriously?
2. have you used the jack in freezing temps? what is the operating temp range of the jack? I looked in both the manual...
hey Bill, are you bringing the drool-worthy keysight stuff to CFW?
I will be lucky to get my 2m/70cm antenna installed by then. tarheel stubby will probably still be sitting in garage. trying to figure out where to put it on the new rig. thinking about putting my j-pole and long wire tuner...
that's actually the one i was looking at, debating between the 12 ton and 20 ton models. since the truck is only 4 ton, 12 ton seemed like it would be sufficient.
so you haven't found it to be unreliable, or high maintenance etc? or difficult to use
thanks again
