1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

Well, its that time of year. Pulled the tarp off the tent, emptied out the trailer, cleaned out the leaves and stuff, checked and re-packed all gear, put the battery on the charger, put the new sleeping bag in the tent, etc etc. Hoping for a trip this weekend.

I've been farting around with this thing lately, its so easy and cheap to work on. And it actually doesn't really require any work! Its weird. It's old, and its a truck, but I can just get in and drive it.

    Dice...... The 1978 Jeep Wagoneer

I really ought to ditch my AC too. Its all there, its all connected, but it doesnt work. The dang under dash unit has been falling and breaking more and more over time as well, I currently have it propped up with a section of 2x6 haha. When I lived in Vegas it was always a "one day" project...

Thats what everybody has been saying. I've only been up here 4 years, but everybody is like "We haven't had one this bad since the late 80's" Cold and cloudy, then wet, then cold so nothing metls or thaws, then it melted and thawed, repeat. lol Normally I dont get to affected by the weather...

Been quite a while since I've stumbled in here. We've had a crappy cold, rainy, snowy winter and I just havent had it in me to do much work or get much use out of the wagoneer. Finally starting to warm up a little, so hopefully we'll have some camping trips in the near future, and hopefully...

    Modified Grand Wagoneer reliability?

Youll have to weigh whats more important to you. Supposed "peace of mind" or supposed "unreliability". I say supposed peace of mind because new cars fail, just like old ones. If it does fail, you're still stuck. I say supposed unreliability because, well, your jeep is still on the road after...

    Jeep gladiator build

I dont really know why I'm here, lol. There's literally nothing FSJ related to learn really, and my jeep is far from what this website caters to. Eh. I post even less on overlandbound. Who knows.

I was actually just logged in over there today for the first time in ages. So much is changed and worse. I basically posted a few epic pics in my build thread and said "signing off". I was so active on there and have made some serious friends for life, met many people from across the country...

I lube mine, bushings are newer and i greased them when installed, and made sure they can move in the shackle. I guess i could go back and lube em up again though. I believe my shackle angles are aite in the front and rear, not vertical.

Also, I am now weighing the options for shocks. I think I have the part numbers correct based on OAL and compressed length. I'm putting these here so i dont lose them. Bilstein: Front 33-230320 - $85 each Rear: 33-233970 - $75 each Rancho9000 adjustable: Rear: RS999113 - $115 each Front...

So last week, half drunk at 7pm on Thursday, my wife and I decided to go camping after work on Friday. I loaded the trailer in about 10 minutes, then packed a cooler and duffle bag in the morning, loaded the dog, and drove to work planning to leave after i put in my 8 hours. Went to Ft...

Pretty much only 1 or 2 options for lifting a pre-74 because we have external post mount springs. So, short of custom work, I dont think theres anything that will ride nice. And my hooptie isn't worth custom springs. I'm just going to go with better shocks and home for some minor improvement.
