You could also reinforce the control arm by welding in a reinforcement strip between the two sides on the underside.

I have to agree with everyone else, and that's coming from someone who has four 30 year old vehicles and has a 3 year old. If you need something to move kids around, do some camping, and off-road occasionally a more modern SUV is hard to beat. Older vehicles are great as 3rd or 4th vehicles...

I have the WildPeak MT in 285/75R16 on my 86 Suburban with the stock 16x6 wheels. Only rubbing currently on the running boar inner corners on the front.

Yeah very weird size, not easy to find. I ended up ordering plugs from Fastenal. Cheaper than the plugs via RockAuto and the parts stores don't carry this size in the quantity I need. Hopefully they arrive next week. I ordered Cabelas Trail Gear seat covers for the front seats. Really...

Spark plugs are replaced! Also removed one side of air tubes. I borrowed some plugs to try from work and found that the M22x1.5 plug worked. This is GM PN 12384935 which is a transfer case drain plug. It is a tapered plug but I'll see if it will work without leaking. I'll see if I can find...
