"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

It depends on which 37's... My KO2's are much lighter ( and only 35.5") than say nitto trail grapplers n 37"... Don't believe everything you read on the net [emoji6] Sent from my Jeep

Hardtop hoist for 20' garage ceiling??

Here are a few pics of what I have. I definitely think you could source your won setup for less money. I was lucky and found it second hand for a great price. My only issue with it is i have to reach over my head to reach the remote for the winch at the height it is at...

Hardtop hoist for 20' garage ceiling??

This is the system I have, and my ceilings are 17.5'. works great. Ill try and send a picture of it if I get a chance. I have the powered winch part mounted up in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling, running over to a set of pulleys mounted in the ceiling that lift the hoist. Works...

Got my new-to-me rig: '04 Suburban 1500 LT...

Also having an '04, I'm jealous at how nice your interior is (though mine has seen more than 100k more miles, and my kids are messy). It looks like a clean slate to start with. The great news about these trucks, is that they are not really that hard to work on. But, you will notice little...

Modding a Wrangler to Match Land Cruiser Reliability?

Personally I think its silly that we are arguing about this a) because its way off topic from the original question and b) we all know the most rugged vehicle ever made is a toyota.. The Hilux. I mean, why else would it be the "Scum of the world's" choice of ride all over the globe? :sombrero:

Modding a Wrangler to Match Land Cruiser Reliability?

I love my jeep.. It is perfect (to me) for what I need it for. I can think of nothing better for the job. That cruiser is SWEET! I bet that trip across Australia in it was amazing! Kind of Apple to Oranges though. I think in reality, each has their strong suits.

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

I had an experience today that I thought I would share, that might show how polarizing this issue is for some people. As I was wrapping up a lunch meeting with some very close friends/business partners, one of the gentlemen in the party who was riding in my truck with me back to my office...

Sold the 4runner, shopping for a 'Burb or XL

Late to the party.. sorry. my thoughts on the 8.1 vs. the 6.0 in the 2500 burbs is this.. GO WITH THE 8.1! My current daily driver is a 2005 2500 withs he 8.1, and I love it. Yea, gas milage is not good. But neither is the milage in any large SUV. Plus, the 8.1 just cruises on the highway...

Modding a Wrangler to Match Land Cruiser Reliability?

Cool video! One think, from a jeep owners perspective, is that I think each company builds them for different overall purposes. I think most would agree that Toyota builds the cruisers for traveling longer distances in remote areas ( though most here in the states only really ever see long...

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

There is no amount of legislation that could be passed that would stop someone, so dedicated to afflicting harm, that they drop their 6 month old child off to never see them again just before going and committing an act of terrorism. Anyone that thinks a law will protect them from a person...

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

I think the point that always gets missed is this... One bad egg typically ruins it for all of the other eggs. Sadly, each and every one of the "negatives" seems to revolve around these bad eggs.

Didn't catch the "foot" comment  They should be a great tire choice for a lot of us. Now, back to KVW's build thread :victory:

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

One thing that gets skipped over in most of these conversations, in my opinion, is the awareness and thought process that goes into (for most) carrying a firearm. Personally, I haven't left my home without my firearm (to work, play or chores) for a long time. Not because I feel scared or...

"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

The reason why I threw out the 37" ko2 is that it is just over 35" mounted. Oh, and they weigh less than the 35" trail grapplers too... Do note, that I am one of those guys who hasn't "upgraded" my axels because I have never seen anyone break one in my presence... Now that I have said that out...

    2012+ Wrangler Laptop Mount?

You rang:sombrero: I used one in my '14 for about 18 months. I recently removed it, as now I only use an iPad mini for my navigation/communication needs. PM me if you are interested in it. Its a heavy guy, so shipping might be a pain. But as of now, its just sitting in my garage. worked...
