    Lexus GX 460 & 470 owner's thread

Keep in mind both Tex and I have GX 460s, which are definitely more efficient than GX 470s.

    Lexus GX 460 & 470 owner's thread

I agree with these numbers as they're basically spot on for what I'm seeing. I'm on 265s, but I have a basket roof rack up top.

    Lexus GX 460 & 470 owner's thread

At speed, drag has more of an affect on fuel economy than weight. Also, at least for the GX 460, the type of driving that you use it for really matters in terms of fuel economy. Slower speed start stop driving really burns gas, but it's actually surprisingly efficient at highway speeds.

    ExPo's Lexus GX470 Overland Project

A 265/70-17 fits underneath on my GX 460. Since they both use the same stock size, I'd assume it would also fit on a GX 470.

    4Runner vs LR4 Help

Rumor has it the next 4Runner is due in 2022 or 2023. It's certainly an old platform and Toyota is in the process of revamping all their trucks to be on the new TNGA-F platform. However, the new Tundra will be launched first, then the new Land Cruiser. The new 4Runner will be after them, but...

Things to hate about a 2020 Tacoma...

Some 2020s now have power seats. The power seats can raise higher than the manual seats that previously came in all Tacomas.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Will there be a way to retrofit the tank between the cab and the bulkhead without removing the camper?

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Question: 3rd gen Tacos seem to require bed stiffeners to reinforce for the bed sides for camper mounting. Is that needed for the Alu-Cab canopy camper? Feels like the full door extends downward and helps distribute weight to the floor, not to mention there might already be Alu-Cab engineered...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Perhaps a sideways sleeping arrangement downstairs might work? Regardless of how you configure it though, there's not a lot of height downstairs to make sleeping comfortable if you're not on the bed floor.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Did the water tank ever get announced? I'm wondering how it pipes into the camper. Is it gravity fed?

Coyote Flats - Offroad Adventure At 10,000'

It looks great up there. What lake did you camp at?

Crossoverlanding Adventures - Death Valley, Hunter Mountains, and Saline Valley

We didn't go to the hot springs (I still haven't been even though I'm now in a GX 460), but I'm 100% confident the Forester can make it there.

Tent Review: Malamoo Xtra by Oztent

There's plenty of folks with years and years on their Oztents that are holding up just fine, many in this forum. I'm sorry mandingo had a bad experience, but it seems like his experience is the exception and not the rule.

Why aren't more tacoma owners up in arms about their trucks?

Even though automakers by and large have great quality control processes these days, manufacturing defects still happen. It might very well be that OP got a dud motor that was going to blow no matter how it is operated. There's perhaps something to be said about putting some miles on a vehicle...

5 Days and 1300 miles of adventure across Utah - December 2017

Really nice photos. I've been using them to hype up my own impending trip to Toquerville Falls. How bad were conditions on the lower trail when you went by during Christmas? I asked mass as well, but I want to try it with my stock (except for AT tires and sliders) GX 460. They might have...

5 Day Canyonlands Expedition - [Toquerville Falls, White Rim Trail, Capitol Reef]

Awesome videos and photos. There seems to be a conspicuous lack of snow, but the pictures are amazing! It looks like you took the more challenging Eastern trail (the one with multiple water crossings) to Toquerville Falls instead of taking Spring Dr. straight in. Am I correct? I'm planning...
