I run a clip-on 12v car oscillating fan that I bought for maybe $20. I've never thought to of taken a picture of it, but it looks and could be identical to this one:

It's cheap and the switch broke, but I just hardwired it and I've been using it...
They had actually broke while deploying the awning. The girlfriend wasn't doing her job and didn't hold down the awning I was unfolding it, it got caught up in the wind like an umbrella, and pull it up and snapped the knuckles. I was pretty upset with her since we had a week left in our trip...
Actually I would. There's not too much wrong with it I'd say and I'm quite happy with it. Yes, I did break the knuckles this summer, but that's not the awnings fault, and could easily happy to any other make, and it does from what I read. I do have a temp solution working at the moment, but it...

I'm still running Optimas. Never had an issue really. I switched to Canadian Tire Eliminiators since my Optimas were dying after a good 7-8 years of hard use, but one only lasted a few months, and they wouldn't warranty it since one of the poles were bent (honestly, no idea how). I looked around...
One thing I will say is that integrated LED lighting is actually VERY handy. In a panic situation, you don't have to run looking for light, hoping it has a good battery, and working only in that little lighted area. On my first use of my awning, we had finished installing my LED lights the night...
Have you posted this on any of the Facebook groups? Overland Canada? I could share it to the Overland Quebec group, I think I remember someone or a few people looking for one.
My RTT came with some stainless L brackets. Why not rotate your Fortrek mounts 90 degrees, and do something similar?
Not the best pics, but you can see how it's mounted. I used muffler clamps since I didn't want to wait for the Fortrek's to take weeks to come into Canada, but the same process...

I ordered one a few months ago and got in it, but yet to use it since it's winter. I got lucky and found one "used" on Amazon for $25 when I looked it up for another thread for someone, and when I got it...
As stated above, I also followed the guidelines and tried to keep the length of the coupler to center of the trailer wheels the same as that from the center of the front to the center of the rear wheels of the tow vehicle. Part of the design was a straight tongue and enough length to jack-knife...
On my Xterra it's just a 200amp solenoid that splits the battery. While the solenoid is activated on ignition-only 12v trigger, I do have a momentary switch to self-boost. So handy!
I may be a gen1, but I've had my RTT on my X for several years with no issues. Do NOT use the crossbars to mount it and use the main rack tubing. While indeed it does say 125lb, I would agree to it being the dynamic load for safety/roll-overs, but it's been absolutely fine off-roading with it...
I'm not sure if the reference to the fuel tank is that you plan on keeping it on the trailer for fuel, but on mine I had kept it for that reason, and on the opposing side where the exhaust ran originally I found a 60L water tank that was very close to the fuel tank's size and mounted it accordingly.
I thought I read in another thread that those USA military trailers in the USA weren't allowed to be sold outside the USA?
Check with GCsurplus and Kijiji once in a while, and even on Overland Canada forums
I've slept in a few parking lots and the side of the road, but not a Walmart yet. The one thing that does worry me is an idiot will not see the ladder and hit it with their car. I'll park the truck and trailer in an L shape, with the ladder in the middle, and try to have the ladder towards...
