Gonna use a black urethane.
Here's some better shots of the battery box.
Last bit on the bumper.
Etch primed everything...
Lined...
Started making the template for the canvas but it started raining so the marker stopped working. But it gives you a better idea of what's...
So the battery box is all done.
The support bracket. The batteries weigh 100 pounds each.
This box goes into the support and bolts to it. This is the bottom side.
The top side is open for venting. You can see where the batteries go on each side. The bars that will go across them will...
The awning arms all stack into the box on the right of the picture below. The awning should roll up and fit next to the arms. Gravity holds the arms in place and I have straps and things that will come down to the van to secure it from lifting up.
Here's a better idea of what the awning will look like.
The awning will have velcro straps to go through these slits and pull tight.
mocked up the panels.
The room in the boxes, under the panels.
Put the dirtbike on the back as well to see how it fits. A bit too wobbly for my liking...
Progress was going slow and I hated that I was rushing the work to catch an unrealistic deadline. So I took the van down to the keys for a friends wedding as a test run. I already had tickets to the LSU/UF game since I planned on being in that area by now, but obviously that wasn't going to...
I actually got some bad information. She was giving me info on what to do if you build your own car. Apparently all I have to do is go to the tax collector with an affidavit stating that I installed a 110v or plumbing system in accordance with state law and money for a new title/registration...
I use it as a seat. Never tried to stand on it lol I've busted through it a few times sitting down, luckily it's not far to fall. It's the perfect height to sit on, inside the van.
I've been going back and forth with the DMV inspectors on what I need to convert the title to a class b camper...
Yeah the ronco tank is fine. pretty straight forward.
I put the heater together and mounted it. I just need to attach the fuel lines and the electronics.
Bed is in..
I put the dirtbike mount together.
I installed these little leds underneath to light up the ground while...
Ebay..
So an ad popped up on CL and it was exactly what I was looking for. So I drove my *** out to orlando and picked this bad ***** up. 2002 KTM 300 2 stroke. It came with brand new road and knobby tires, brand new helmet, new gloves, racing gas tank, and all the original paperwork. I'll...
I'm getting to the point of installing the Espar heaters and can't seem to find the threads i had saved about them; specifically about the 1/4 tank issue. I'm about to mock everything up (fuel lines, coolant lines, etc.) and wanted to make sure I ordered everything that I'll need. I know some...
5'11"
Finished the front piece today. Also threw up the lights under the toe-kick. I think I'm moving the toilet to the other side too. I mocked up the flooring to see how it is going to look all together.
so I finished all the cutting, sanding, and lacquer for the cabinet.
Plenty of room for wires and ventilation.
I used pipe insulation inbetween the panel and the window
I put down some felt to prevent splinters on the mattress.
I put in the motion lights today.
Also cut the hole for the heater exhaust
Now I'm ready to sand the cabinets, lacquer them, and put it all together. I'll probably do that tomorrow morning. Today seems like a good night to go out to a bar and talk trash to FSU fans. ;)
I used this velcro.. http://amzn.com/B00006RSP1
I did use some 3M spray adhesive 90 on it too just for s&g, but the velcro was definitely sticky enough by itself.
I used dupli-color bumper and trim paint. http://amzn.com/B00R244NGE
It's expensive, but turns out really nice, covers great...
I cut/trimmed the plastic pieces for the B pillars to fit the wood panels and painted them black to match the carpet I installed. They turned out good enough for me to consider doing the door panels, headliner, and dash... Hmmm
The next thing I did was get the counter top. I just...
So I hit a snag with the brake calipers not releasing. Flushed the brake fluid and found some crap so we were hoping that would solve the problem. Test driving it discovered that the brake booster wasn't properly working either. After inspection the master cylinder was leaking too so I just...
I lied and did some work today. I was getting super hammered and antsy waiting for the game to start. Anyway, posting up some progress before the game. Put in the carpet on the pillars on one side and mocked up a template for the wall.
And Tigua's bones came in today.. One happy...
