okay so i have these led strips in my van I'm trying to run straight off the batteries. So I want to run power from the house batteries to a couple toggle switches. I know the positive is in the middle of the connector end and the negative is the outlying piece so I can cut it open and ohm it...
I did some more electrical work today and started working on the black aluminess cab in the back. I put in the shelves. I'll get lights on the inside and move the license plate to it tomorrow. This is gonna hold all my flammable stuff, tools, and spare parts.
I did some odds and ends today, also made my "dresser" which is just a small box for my clothes. It doubles as a step for the dog to get in the van as well.
I put the tv mount up and hooked up the antenna.
Here's where I put the antenna. I just used velcro.
A picture came up in timehop the other day of when I first brought it home. I was still living in Antigua so I didn't get to work on it right away. But here's a comparison of a year out.
As far as visible progress, I fixed the led's so they would illuminate the cab more.
I made some mounts...
Got the trim done
Glued and stapled the carpet to the wood.
I painted the top black because there's a gap between the trim and the ceiling wood. I put leds on the back of the trim so it will get some extra light. I have to wait for the connector piece to show up in the mail before I can...
I used raptor liner on my van. I've painted about 4 whole vehicles and about 30 or so jobs with raptor. If you decide to go that route and have any questions I'm happy to answer in detail.
Here's the process of the van.

Running out of beer halfway through a day.
Another one is assuming 'plug and play' or 'bolts right into oem hardware/spots' is correct.
Making an unrealistic timeline
So because the door is actually wider than where the hinge was, it had to swing out. Took a bit of thinking but we finally got it.
Since the air tank was best mounted on its side, I had to move the drain plug so that it was on the bottom of the tank.
I also stopped by Ricky...
That would be awesome. What's your favorite mountain around there? I'll probably hop around a lot because of the epic pass, but I'd kinda like to find a spot for a month or two and maybe try to get a job.
Sorry I had family come in town for a wedding so I've been busy running around and...
yeah man I'm in merritt island. Building it at my parents house. Another reason I'm trying to get outta here asap. I swung by Ricky Carrolls shop looking for a new board for the trip. You shoulda stopped and had a beer, they had the band going and everything.
I got some more electrical stuff done today. The awning is working great as rain cover.
Looking at it now, it's so much overkill. But anything worth doing is worth over doing. I just hope the next owner appreciates how easy I made it for them in the future.
K didn't get much done today, it's been raining all day. Here's some day shots of how I ran the air hoses.
The rear is on a swivel right on the little piece that's a crease behind the bumper.
The front is easily accessible under the front bumper.
I know the wiring is completely overkill...
Just been doing a bunch of wiring and planning out some other stuff. It's been kind of slow since I went to the football game. I have a wedding to go to this weekend with a bunch of family coming in; so this weekend is going to be busy too.
Put the terminal blocks in and connected a few...
Glad to hear the heater worked out. I should be connecting mine here this week. I bought a combo kit that had the water heater to, probably the only difference about our systems. Thanks for the pics, helps me a lot since I'm a visual person.
I finally figured out what I'm going to do with all the electrical. I'm going to run all the switches to one spot and all the auxiliary stuff to one spot; and connect it through a screw terminal. It will make everything easier to daisy chain or move or install, etc. The 4' countertop makes an...
awesome man. I'm glad someone learned something from my experience. I try to take as many pictures as possible, but sometimes when I get in the zone I can't be bothered to stop and take pics. I'm way behind in my deadline to leave so I'm kinda busting *** to get outta here.
I don't have much...
