Basically a MOSFET can be thought of as like a relay in operation with the following exceptions:
It is VERY static sensitive so care must be taken in handling them. never just pick one up.
You will need a "drain" from you signal to ground through a zener diode to ensure it switches as a tiny...
That is a very cool trailer and I'm all kinds a jealous and its not like it matters what I think but givenyour vehicles and propnsity for mil spec, how about a nice deep olive/forest green.
446.000 MHz Is FM Calling for the 440 band.
Just for the record there are different calling frequencies for SSB.
Be advised too that these are more like CB 19 than CB 9. They are meant to be a place to "call" ether CQ or for a specific station. Generally etiquette dictates moving long QSOs to...
LAPG took 4 and they are much closer. I ordered Sunday. Monday was the 4th so I dont count that. Stuff (most of it) got here Friday.
Thanks I'll give them a try next time.
I ordered a pair after reading this thread. I like them allot. The fit is great and they allow full freedom of motion, while being immune to plumbers disease. I love that I can get the elusive 35" waist. The fabric does pick up crap as mentioned. I'm hoping a few washes will tone that down but...
There are several 6m repeaters around here and all of them that I know of are or can be linked to affiliated 2m systems. They are useful in that 6m does a better job of walking up and over hills and getting down into canyons. I think of it that 6m is to 2m as 2m is to 440. I don't have 6m in my...
I was just poking fun. People like to say VHF and UHF are only line of site and my experiencing shows otherwise. You may not be able to hit Tokyo or Sidney or Southamanian, but it will walk over hill and dale.
...and if you had good enough eyes you could have seen him right? since its only good for line of site? Just kidding. Ya 2m SSB is very cool. I have done a bit of it, but it was on a loaner radio.
The reason I rate it lower is that the equipment typically used is so poor when compared to the HAM equipment and the fact that more power is available if needed to make contact. I concede that the frequencies are so close as to be considered the same as far as how they will work IF everything...
Most pots have very low reliability (at least by automotive standards). If you have the right part just swap it. With the part in hand and the radio apart it's a 5 min job with the right tools. I have found that 3/4 of being "good at soldering" is having a good iron. Find a local HAM and fix it...
What about MURS? They are 2m like in frequency and you can use external antennas.
So the disadvantages from 2m is nobody listening on the other end, limited to 2 watts, and no repeaters. It kick GMRSes butt, and don't even bring up CB.
How long have you been using it and how much abuse have you given it. I have been thinking about getting one of those for day to day use and keeping my bigger higher gain one as a backup or in case I need more mountain top range.
I haven't broken any but I have the same basic problem. Why doesn't anyone make a descent pl259, duel band, that will put up with trees and garages? I may have to start making them myself.
