The dogs look so happy. Fiona always keeps us going. We walk 3+/- miles a day with her. When we start putting on our walking shoes she goes crazy until her collar is on and we are walking out the door 🐾
Glad you are back and on the mend. Things happen in mysterious ways and as others stated going in for tests saved your life. I lost two friends over the past 3 months, one to the widow maker and the other to complications that caused his heart to fail. Looking forward to your resumed travels. I...
I seem to get side tracked more than usual. Spent the last 30 minutes getting caught up. Seeing those pictures from Alaska brought a smile to my face. I remember many from early in the journey. Back in the early '70's 3 friends and I traveled to Devil's Lake State Park near Barabo, WI. We camped...
Belated Merry Christmas⛄??Hope the New Year brings many new mountain peaks and new memories. Hard to believe it has been 10 years since this journey started. I have enjoyed every hike, every climb, and each of your companions along the way. Continued safe travels. JD
Realized I hadn't checked for 3+ weeks. Sorry about all the truck and jeep troubles. The new pup is doing great. Thanks for asking. We have taken her on 2-3 mile walks everyday. When she hears the word "Walk" she goes crazy. Funny how they have their own personalities. We have sure enjoyed her...
One can never get tired of Yellowstone or the Tetons. Visiting with snow would be a life long dream, but I would need from the other half, and I doubt she would go for that. So thanks for the winter pictures. Sorry about the truck. I'm lucky to probably have the top Ford guy in Indiana at the...
A new addition to the family. Meet Fiona. She turned 5 on October 13th. She had two litters of puppies, 5 & 6. She is built like a tank. Thank you everyone for your kind words. Our trip to Texas was fun, but it felt empty without our camping companion Sarah. Let the new adventures begin.
Back home after a month with two days of 101° on Waco, TX. Too hot in the fall down there. I'm better suited for the mountain states. The house looks great. I love the wall and the fence highlights.
What a transformation. The landscaping is awesome. Thanks for the kind words on Sarah. She will be missed and we will get through this. Stay tuned, we may have some interesting news when we get back from Texas in mid-October.
How old is Tanner? 5? We were talking to a breeder yesterday and she had one of her labs that had 1-2 seizures. Can't remember what she said caused it, but apparently there haven't been more. There was some imbalance or something. Hopefully the vet will get it figured out. We will be with...
To ease the pain I decided to do a tribute to Sarah on our blog. I was schocked to see how many photos we had taken since 2015. I always struggle to post photos on this site. Here is the link to my tribute.

Wow! I tried to post a picture and it wouldn't attach to the post. I shall try again. They become such a big part of our lives. I think the seizure was related to something else going on. We will never know. Wonder whether the Spindle Cell Sarcoma that was scheduled to be removed the next day...
We got back from a week at Indiana Dunes State Park and Indiana Dunes National Park Sunday, August 28th. Sarah was scheduled for surgery last Thursday, September 1st to remove a Spindle Cell Sarcoma from her left side that had gone from a small fatty tissue which checked out fine to a 3"x3"x1"...
Beautiful area. Nice not having anyone around. Sure beats dealing with the masses at Yellowstone. Also not having to deal with stupid. All of those Bison petting fools.
